RYSE Center

RYSE Center A safe space building youth power for young people to love, heal & lead.

RYSE creates safe spaces grounded in social justice that build youth power for young people to love, learn, educate, heal and transform lives and communities. We envision a community that inspires youth to live with pride and purpose, where the sounds of gunshots have been replaced by the sounds of organizing, song, collaboration, laughter, and learning. In everything we do, we work to ensure RYSE remains a consistent sanctuary of safety, compassion, and justice for all youth.

This week at RYSE, we’re moving through time — honoring the stories, traditions, resistance, healing, and joy woven across Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander/Oceania communities. 🌺🌊🧵

From immigrant flavor and ancestral healing practices to political movement building, cultural pride, and collective celebration, our “Woven Through Time” spirit week created space for young people to connect across generations, cultures, and struggles through art, food, dance, organizing, storytelling, and community care. ❤️💛💚

Swipe through to see the themes, activities, and beautiful energy that shaped our Asia x Oceania RYSing History Month celebration this week at RYSE.

✨💫We are thrilled to celebrate the launch of The Culture Keepers — a storytelling and media platform that brings visibility, resources, and reverence to Bay Area artists and culture makers.

RYSE believes that culture keeping means recognizing young people — especially Black, Brown, Q***r, and system-impacted youth — as experts of their own lives, stories, and futures. They are leaders, visionaries, and bearers of our communities’ power. ✍🏼🎨✊🏼

The Culture Keepers is a reminder that creativity, care, and collective investment are essential to thriving communities. We’re proud to stand alongside artists, educators, elders, yelders, organizers, and young people who continue to protect, nurture, and reimagine culture across the Bay Area.

✨💜🩵💛Dear Beloved Community,

💜💸Your steadfast support and joyous contributions at this year’s Be a Kid! fundraiser generated over $63,000 for the Youth Emergency Fund, to directly support youth and families in West Contra Costa through crises including access to meals, safe housing, mental health supports and more. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏿

With lighting up the stage, nourishing our bodies, slinging signature sips, and dropping banger after banger, we thank you for being together with us.

You can sustain a liberatory space where young people will continue to lead, dream, and love by contributing to the Youth Emergency Fund and signing up to be a recurring donor at rysecenter.org/donate.

Shoutout to for the pictures!
