One Smile at Time
What We Do: ECN at VCU’s mission is to provide an environment on campus that educates and supports the betterment for conditions of children with cancer in Africa. We work directly with ECN USA to support, and raise awareness for the 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo.
We have hosted many events so that we can get the student body engaged with the betterment of cancer conditions in Africa: 1.We made cards, and donated caps to the children at the 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital. This was in an effort to promote solidarity between VCU students, and the children overseas. Putting a smile on at least one child's face made this effort all worth it 2. We hosted a Koshary (traditional Egyptian dish) fundraiser to promote awareness, and raise funds for the hospital 3. Collaborated with other VCU orginizations to make valentines cards to promote cheer and show support to the local community at the Children's Hospital of Richmond We have been activley speaking at events, and educting children about cancer risk factors.
