Right Sharing of World Resources We redistribute resources to women's groups in Guatemala, Kenya, Sierra Leone, and India.

Right Sharing of World Resources is an independent Quaker not-for-profit organization pursuing the abundance of God’s love through wealth redistribution. RSWR funds micro-enterprise projects for marginalized women in India, Kenya, and Sierra Leone. RSWR asks all of us to consider the benefit of simple living and the need to live sustainably.

From the mountains of Colorado, across the plains of Illinois, and to the foothills of Appalachia, the staff of Right Sharing visited with five Yearly Meetings last week. We hosted workshops, enjoyed fellowship with Friends and spent time in collaborative discussions with fellow Quaker organizations. Be on the lookout for a Right Sharing staff member visiting your area later this summer. Interested in hosting a Right Sharing workshop in your community? Have you listened to the recent episode of the Quakers Today podcast (Friends Journal) where they explore Relational Finance? It features our very own Nathan Kleban and Traci Hjelt Sullivan.

Nathan asks: "How do we reorient ourselves towards community and towards relationships we can nurture each other outside of this very extractive economy? Instead of just like, how do we just make a lot of money and then use it to get our needs, but how do we do something?"

Traci explores: "It’s about how can we support each other in leading good lives? We may have different definitions of what a good life is and what the markers are, but that we all do need community to thrive."

Small gifts create lasting change.

When you drive into Radhika’s town, you see the factories right away. Big buildings with piles of clay lamps stacked outside. That’s where she learned this work, pressing lamps for hours for someone else’s business.

It was steady work, but it wasn’t her own.

At some point, Radhika started thinking about doing it differently.

“Why not buy my own machine? Having my own business is better than going and working for someone else.”

Around that time, she joined the Sevvandhi Self-Help Group and went through business training. It helped her think about the work she already knew how to do as something she could own.

She took a 24,000 rupee loan, about $260 (USD), and bought a clay press.

Now she works from home. About five hours a day, making around 5,000 lamps. Her small oil lamps are used in temples, ceremonies, and festivals. Read the rest of Radhika's story at: https://rswr.org/news/small-gifts-create-lasting-change/

Join us for our next Right Sharing Conversation: Generosity and Enough on Tuesday, May 19th.

What does it mean to live with “enough”? How might generosity reshape our relationship with money, resources, and one another?

In this interactive, spirit-led conversation, we’ll gather in community to reflect, listen, and share stories about abundance, scarcity, and the choices we make each day. These monthly conversations create space for meaningful dialogue and connection, rooted in Quaker values and lived experience. This session will be facilitated by Carolyn Lejuste of Red Cedar Friends in Lansing, Michigan.

For decades, Patience (Pat) Schenck practiced quiet, steady generosity. Pat gave modestly but faithfully—small gifts over many years to organizations working toward a more just and equitable world. She believed deeply that change was possible, and that each of us has a role to play in creating it.

When Pat passed away in 2025, she made a final, extraordinary gift: a bequest of approximately $140,000 to Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR).

It was, in many ways, a continuation of how she had always lived. Read more about Pat's life and legacy: https://rswr.org/news/a-life-of-faithful-giving-remembering-patience-schenck/
