“Because of your loved one's selfless gift, I was able to receive the bone graft that is giving me a second chance; not just in my sport, but in living without constant pain. Your generosity has given me hope, healing, and the opportunity to come back stronger than ever."
At 15, Max Salebra already has an impressive resume: American Ninja Warrior, two-time World Ninja champion, World Cup gold medalist, two-time Obstacle Course racing gold medalist, and Tissue Graft Recipient.
Max was diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans, a joint condition most often affecting adolescents, at age 14. In February 2026, he underwent surgery, and the graft he received gave him greater mobility with less pain. His mother, Lanie, says Max's healing is progressing incredibly well, and he should be able to begin training again.
Max has promised to honor the gift by working hard, staying grateful, and never taking this second chance for granted. 💙💚 Max’s American Ninja Warrior episode will air Monday, July 6, on NBC. Thank you to our partners, Solvita, for sharing this story with us!

“In March 2005, at just 9 months old, an anonymous liver donor changed my life forever. After months of being sick in the hospital, the recovery felt so fast and magical to the people around me. Now, as the years have gone by, I realize how fortunate I am to have gotten such a perfect match, and that I get a chance at life. I get to grow up, start a family and build a career of my own because someone else made the decision to be a donor. While I might not know the person or the family who gave me my liver, I still think about them all the time. The idea that such a tragedy for another family could bring me the chance to experience life at all is hard to process, but I know that I will never take the gift they gave me for granted. A stranger's decision over two decades ago gave me this chance, and it will not be wasted.” – Lily 💙💚 Register your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor at RegisterMe.org and share this decision with your family and community!

"Here we are in 2026...I am able to see another birthday. I am forever grateful to my donor, my 'Organ Buddy.' We have gotten so close through this whole process. It seems we're more like family. It has also made me look at life through a different lens. The transplant process puts into perspective what matters, what doesn't, what's in your control and what needs to be released."
Tiffany (left in photo) was diagnosed with a rare liver disease in high school that progressed in severity over the years until her medical team suggested that a living liver transplant was her best option. Tiffany posted her story on social media, and a family friend, Nora, messaged to say she was interested in being evaluated as a living donor. They were a match! In September of 2025, Tiffany and Nora had their surgeries. They both had complications but are doing well today. 💙💚 Thanks to Tiffany for sending in her story!

"In 2012, what I thought was just a normal doctor’s visit for my recurring bronchitis changed my life forever. A nagging cough, something I brushed off time and time again, led to me being placed on supplemental oxygen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Eventually, doctors diagnosed me with end-stage lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis. I remember thinking, How could this be? I had never smoked. It wasn’t genetic. I had never worked around harmful chemicals. Nothing made sense.

In August 2018, I received the call that donor lungs had become available. That moment brought a mixture of emotions; I knew this gift had come through someone else’s loss, and I immediately understood the magnitude of the sacrifice behind my second chance at life. Before my transplant, I faced many challenges with my health that impacted not only me, but also my family. Today, I live with deep gratitude for my donor, Ali, whose selfless gift gave me more than lungs; it gave me more time, more memories, and more opportunities to make an impact. I honor Ali’s legacy by sharing my story, advocating for organ donation, and encouraging others to register as donors.

My journey has taught me never to take life for granted. Every breath I take is a reminder of grace, purpose, and the power of generosity. I am living proof that organ donation saves lives, and I strive each day to live in a way that honors the incredible gift I was given." 💙💚 Thanks so much to Lashon for sharing her story with us!

Erica was involved in a severe car crash that damaged her right leg, and following the accident, she endured several difficult surgeries. Erica then noticed discomfort in her left leg, and it was discovered that two of her ligaments were damaged. With the help of donor tissue, she was able to have the damage repaired. After surgery, she took time to acknowledge the opportunity she had gained because of another person’s selfless gift. She wanted her donor family to know that their loved one had positively impacted her life in a very significant way. “I do my best to spread the word. I want everyone to know how many people are touched by donation and how many can benefit from it. Because of tissue donation, my quality of life is better than it ever was before.” After a lengthy recovery period, Erika can walk around her city and hike with her wife and dogs. 💙💚 Learn more about tissue donation at DonateLife.net. Incredible news! MyChart is now the leading national pathway for organ donor registration. 💙💚
In the year since Donate Life America and Epic connected MyChart to the National Donate Life Registry, more than 250,000 people have used MyChart to sign up as organ donors, making it the nation’s leading organ donor registration pathway.
The MyChart organ donor registration feature allows patients to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors directly through the portal they already use to manage their care. More than 220 organizations representing 1,300 hospitals and 27,000 clinics have made the feature available to their patients, and even more organizations are implementing it.

When June was younger, her brother, Brian, went into kidney failure. Her dad, a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War, was able to be Brian's living kidney donor. After nearly 20 years with his donated kidney, Brian was in need of another transplant. Now much older, June was able to get tested to be her brother's living donor, and in 2005, June and Brian underwent a successful transplant. Thanks to the generosity of June and her dad, their family had many more years with Brian, but sadly, Brian passed away from organ failure in 2014. Now, June is a living kidney donor herself and an advocate for donation, volunteering and competing in the Transplant Games of America. 💙💚 Register your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor and learn more about living donation at DonateLife.net

On , we honor the individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Corporal Benjamin S. Kopp, a member of the 75th Army Ranger Regiment, saved six of his comrades when his unit came under attack in Afghanistan. He was mortally wounded and saved four more lives back in the United States through his selfless gift of organ donation. To honor Corporal Kopp and all other brave soldiers who became organ, eye and tissue donors, the Fallen Soldier statue stands at the United Network for Organ Sharing National Donor Memorial and honors members of our military who made organ, eye, and tissue donation their last courageous act of service. The site is a place of peace for all who wish to honor the gift of life! 💙💚
