❄️ WINTER 2026 APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

❤️‍🩹 The THROUGH Cohort is for anyone who has experienced spiritual abuse and is looking for a safe place to gather and process in community. I’ve worked with over 100 survivors just like you from all over the world to help them discover a clear pathway toward healing and wholeness.

🧰 Over 8 weeks, we’ll work together to build trust, find a community of others who share stories like yours, provide safe and compassionate care, and equip you with foundational knowledge and practical tools to seeing and embracing your identity not as broken, but beloved.

🗓️ You'll get access to new video lessons in your library to watch at your convenience. Then, we'll meet virtually on Thursdays or Fridays to discuss and process at each cohort gathering.

🪑 Cost is $399 to join, and scholarships are available upon request. Seating is limited, so apply today!

What does it mean to own yourself after years of being told your body, voice, and choices belonged to someone else? Join us for a conversation with New York Times bestselling author Tia Levings as she unpacks the concept of autonomy as both a psychological milestone and a direct act of resistance against cult control.

We talk about reclaiming autonomy in our minds, hearts, and bodies, how “should” is one of the most dangerous words in the recovery space, and how fundamentalism is a structure of thought that can show up along any spectrum. We explore the tension between silence as both safety and complicity, and how survivors can learn to wield their voice (and their quiet) with intention and autonomy.

How do we learn to separate the voice of God from those who harmed us by claiming to be the voice of God?

Join me for a conversation on how to slow down in the ways we explore and re-engage faith and theology after spiritual abuse and deconstruction with pastor and author AJ Swoboda.

We’ll talk about how curiosity and humility go farther than certainty, how truth gets used as a power play in harmful communities, and how lament is a legitimate and important part of the faith journey.

So I’ve deconstructed. What now?

It’s a question we hear a lot in our community, and it’s a fair one. In her latest book, “To Rebehold the Stars,” author and professor Tiffany Yecke Brooks guides us into a hopeful path of reconstruction. Drawing on Dante, psychology, and spiritual formation, she invites us to reimagine faith with wonder, curiosity, and courage after spiritual abuse or disillusionment.

Explore how naming experiences creates categories for healing and helps form a new, life-giving spiritual lexicon. Differentiate between discomfort that grows us and pain that harms us—and challenge spiritual teachings that keep us hostage to harm. Learn how to “audit” traditions, discern what aligns with the heart of God, and practice spiritual differentiation: forming your own faith while remaining in relationship if you wish.

“Rather than just counting our blessing, I want us to be countering our weights. And we can’t counter what we won’t weigh.”

In her latest book, “Counterweights,” author and neighbor Shannan Martin shared this idea that knocked me over—grief is a counterweight to loss.

For someone working in abuse and trauma, with a community constantly navigating grief, this was a revelation. Grief allows us to name and honor our losses, rather than to be buried under them.

There is power in naming the things that hurt. The things we lost. The futures we buried when we left our places of faith and community.

Friends, I loved this conversation. In a world that’s felt so lopsided and heavy, I’ve been learning from neighbor and author Shannan Martin.

She offers us the wisdom of both Rilke and her dad, who believe that if we are to carry the full weight of the cosmos, we should distribute it in both hands.

Rather than offering us spiritual bypassing, Shannan provides space to acknowledge both the hard and the beautiful and to counteract the heavy weight with sustaining joy.

If life has felt more like lurching to one side than moving forward, don’t miss this conversation.

“Hope is a renewable resource.”

Like the wisdom stated above, there is SO much more goodness in this conversation with neighbor and author . Her newest book, “Counterweights,” could not have come at a better time.

Episode 88 drops tomorrow. Join us as we talk about what we can do when it feels like we’re carrying so much. Learn about options and very real things we can do to counterbalance heaviness with the weight of hope. Subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss it.

AND, if you preorder her book TODAY, you can still get some free bonuses at her website, including the audiobook!

How is misogyny directly connected to the experience of spiritual abuse?

For thousands of women, patriarchal and misogynistic systems of faith have created, enabled, and perpetuated systems of harm. Whether implicit or explicit, when women are told they are less than, other, or anything but the full reflection of the image of God, harm is done.

Join me for my conversation with journalist and author Dorothy Greco as we talk about how to identify misoygny in our spaces, and what we can do to address it.

Have you ever heard people using a word that sounds important and like something you should already know about?

Misogyny can feel like one of those words, and this week, we’re talking with author and journalist Dorothy Greco about her newest book, "For the Love of Women." She expands the definition of misogyny beyond “hatred of women,” explores how it permeates everyday life—including the church—while offering a path toward healing and change.

We talk about the spectrum of misogyny from subtle bias to overt abuse, how power and theology get misused in spiritual spaces, and practical ways men and communities can become allies, advocates, and interrupters. We'll close with some hopeful practices for healing, boundaries, and cultivating beauty.
