Together for Jamaica🇯🇲

Last Friday, the Embassy of Jamaica led a massive sorting and packing drive to prepare our first shipment of hurricane relief supplies to the island.

Jamaicans, Caribbean friends, and members of the wider community came together in an incredible show of unity—packing an initial shipment valued at over US$20,000. Through our partnership with a delivery contractor and Southwest Airlines, the supplies were dispatched from Baltimore Washington International Airport to Donald Sangster International Airport on Saturday morning.

That shipment—filled with essential items—is already being distributed to those most in need, underscoring the power of collaboration between the Embassy and the Jamaican-American community.

Ambassador Anderson, who was present for both the packing and shipping, commended the 40+ volunteers, transportation partners, and donors whose efforts are helping Jamaica build back better.

With over 20 drop-off locations across the DMV and more than 100 across the US, this is only the beginning. 🇯🇲 Jamaica’s recovery will be a marathon, not a sprint—so let’s keep the momentum and the positivity flowing! ✨

Prime Minister Dr Andrew Holness today announced the appointment of Ambassador Audrey Marks to the Senate. 1986-87 opponents (All-Prep v All Primary).
1988-91 teammates (St. George’s College).
1991-94 representatives of (Jamaica Football).
1996-98 opponents (Howard v VCU).
Greg Simmonds and I have been friends, actually more like brothers from the day we met.
Just two little Jamaican boys who loved football, heavily supported by our families and big hearts to give back.
How fitting it was that on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, we were awarded together basically for serving our community.
Thanks to Mikea Osei, The AJR, RVA, and our families for recognizing us. Only 50 more years to go Simmo. 😭 ❤️🙏
