Today, members of Newport News Professional Firefighters Local #794 and the Newport News Fire Department escorted the Carter family to the Virginia Fallen Fighters Memorial. We extend our sincere gratitude to the 794 members who meticulously prepared the engine, transported it to Richmond, served on the Honor Guard detail, or simply attended to support a fellow firefighter and his family. Our department is fortunate that Chief Rogers is dedicated to supporting his personnel and their families. The National and State Memorials were a collaborative endeavor involving Administration, Local #794, and numerous department members who contributed their time and expertise to ensure its success. On behalf of the Carter family, I express our profound appreciation for your assistance and support. I'm proud of everyone who came together to make this happen.
