The Woman's Club

The Woman's Club A literary and cultural association designed for “the delightful friction of well-trained minds. Membership is the gift you give yourself! twcrichmond.org

The Woman’s Club was chartered at a time when many women did not attend college, and few owned property in their own names. Yet the energetic founders not only put together an organization exclusively for themselves, but also established vital civic institutions ranging from the Richmond Public Library to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The Bolling Haxall House is the club’s most visible connect

ion with the community. Today, the historic headquarters is open to visitors and serves as a regular venue for weddings, receptions and meetings. Its protection and preservation is one of the Club’s top priorities.

If one thing is true about our Woman's Club members, it's that we love to engage in thought-provoking conversations 🧠🤔

Over 60 of members gathered this week for our annual "Let's Talk Politics" event, to participate in a thoughtful and informed conversation on today’s political climate with Jim Bacon, journalist and creator of the blog Bacon’s Rebellion and Bob Lewis, long-time reporter for the Associated Press covering Virginia politics and government and currently a contributing columnist to the Virginia Mercury.

Just one of the great events our members have access to with The Woman's Club!
