Sistah Angela had a great time with GFAC’s Glenda Smiley at the She Leads Conference for women leading girl-centered nonprofits, hosted by the SHAUN Foundation for Girls. Connecting with nonprofit sisters and soaking up wisdom from former Vice President Kamala Harris made for an inspiring day.

The inspiration continued during our time in LA with a separate visit to Black Portraiture[s] at UCLA, where Sistah Angela connected with our friend Mara Brock Akil and received a signed copy of “The Revelation of Dione Daphnie.”

Together, these experiences were a reminder that when Black women lead boldly and tell our stories, Black girls can see new possibilities for themselves.

Huge thanks to Shoareged Phillpotts for capturing the magic!
