Okay, wow! I did not expect that video to blow up like it did. This page was started to keep our circle updated about Claire. And it has grown into a way to help families of childhood cancer share their stories as well! This page is ran by me (Jess-Mom), Grammy, and my cousin, Shonda.

So to all our new followers here: Hi! Thank you for all your kind words, prayers, and helpful advice! We love reading everyone's stories, it helps us feel not as alone. I've had many people reach out who are childhood cancer survivors themselves, offering words of encouragement. Thank you so so much. 💛

🎗Update on Claire: Blinatumomab is going great! She's running around, playing, EATING, and feeling great! Her skin biopsy site is healing but still looks gnarly. She's getting excited for Halloween and is loving driving around seeing all the decorations! It's been a good couple weeks for her and we are soaking it up.

To those also going through treatment: you aren't alone. If you need someone to talk to, our family is here for you. We are so thankful for the ones who have made it through treatment and have been there for us. Truly, no one fights alone.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

My parents asked me what our visits look like, it never occurred to me they have never seen this part. So I recorded it. Maybe it will help our circle understand what Claire goes through weekly. And maybe it will help another parent comfort their child that is going through treatment. Maybe it will bring more awareness to what these kids endure. Its scary. I'm 28yrs old and terrified of needles. My 3yr old has probably been poked more than I have at this point.

I have to hold her still or else she absolutely will touch the site, and we can't have that. She gets numbing cream 30mins before access. Child Life tries to distract her. We've talked through it, she knows what is happening and why it has to happen. It doesn't stop her from trying to wiggle away.

Sometimes we do all this for a quick lab draw and can't continue treatment that week so its taken out. Right now its in 24/7 except for the weekly needle change. She sleeps, plays, showers, all while having this needle in her chest. And she never complains.

Its been a busy week for Claire!

Tuesday she made counts, so she had a spinal tap, skin biopsy, and started blinatumomab. With blina, they require a 72 hour stay to make sure everything goes okay.

She will carry a backpack with her new meds in it for the next month. Think IV pole in a backpack. Sleep, eat, play, it all happens with the backpack on and meds pumping. Blina works by helping t cells find and attack the leukemia cells. It's a pretty awesome advancement in leukemia treatment. If she becomes detached or something happens with the pump, she immediately has to go to UK and depending on how long she's detached, it could mean another hospital stay.

At the 24hr mark she got a fever of 102.7 and had slight tremors. They gave her antibiotics and just kept monitoring. Luckily, the fever only lasted a day and she got to come home today (Friday)!

She made new friends with UK Men's Soccer, they had a pretty awesome tea party 😂 & she even got to make her own necklace with Kendra Scott!

The best part was little brother got to visit 🧡 She kept asking for him so my parents brought him up to see her.

Fingers crossed and say a prayer everything goes smoothly and no surprise visits to the ER this next month!

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness mean more than people will ever know. 💛🎗️

A huge THANK YOU to Chips Bakery for sending this beautiful special delivery to Jess and Jeremiah. 🍪❤️

In the middle of appointments, treatments, worry and everything that comes with having a child fighting cancer, having someone simply say “we’re thinking about you” means so much.

Thank you, Chips Bakery, for thinking of Claire’s mom and dad and sending them a little sweetness and love. Our family is continually amazed by the kindness people have shown them.

It truly takes a village, and we are so thankful for ours. 💛🎗️

For a 3 year old like Claire, it is hard to see her not be able to play with friends. During treatments sometimes her only friends allowed to be around her are the Dance Blue volunteers. Jess and I was just talking about this. They are wonderful, but they are not other 3 year olds.

How would you feel as a child to be so isolated? Not allowed to go to birthday parties. Not allowed to have your own birthday party.

You see her smile because those are times that Jess and Jeremiah can be relaxed enough to pull out the phone. The other times they are holding her through the tears. They are trying to figure out how to calm her emotions when she is mad at the world and she herself doesn't know why. But that is what these medications she has to have does, they deregulate your system.

Please pray for all the children who have this terrible disease. Please pray for all the parents that have no choice but to put on a brave face even when they are crumbling inside. Please pray for the doctor, nurses, and all the staff that show up every day to cure these kids. Pray for the volunteers that show kindness and do what they can to make the hours and days go by a little better.

Praise & Update 09/02/26 from Jess & Jeremiah (Claire's Mom & Dad)

Claire had her first shot that is replacing the chemo she had a reaction to and NO REACTION FROM THIS ONE!!

We'll do these shots 3 times a week in clinic for the next couple of weeks and then again during a later phase of treatment.

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.

It also happens to be Leukemia Awareness Month.

This September, Team Claire wants to raise awareness for all childhood cancers! 🎗️

September 19 & 20 a Tribute Wall will be displayed in Washington DC honoring over 5,800 children who have fought or currently fighting cancer.

Childhood cancer has touched far too many families, and we want to use this month to recognize the incredible kids who are fighting, celebrate the survivors, remember those we have lost, and support the families walking this road.
