Tiny Village Spirit Tiny Village Spirit has developed as a response to the emergency shelter crisis. Tiny Village Spirit is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Tiny Village Spirit is a San Francisco Bay Area based project which has developed as a response to the emergency shelter crisis and the giant need for housing justice in California, the US, and globally. We are both promoting construction of tiny house villages as an innovative model for addressing the housing crisis and are also engaged in community organizing of village residents and allies to create systemic change, toward garnering the resources needed to end homelessness.

Doria Robinson welcomed the Richmond Tiny Home Village, Farm and Garden to District 3 during the village’s grand opening.

Robinson said this village is what Richmond needs because it provides love and community space that will allow for 12 unhoused youth to heal.

This is just the start!

Check out some headline of last months grand opening. This project is major news for Richmond and the Bay Area as it shows the power local residents have to organize housing for unhoused neighborhoods.

This new tiny-house village in Richmond will provide brightly colored homes and wraparound services for a dozen young people ages 18 to 24 experiencing homelessness.

The project was led by Tiny Village Spirit and will be operated by Hope Solutions, with the farm and garden serving as a major part of the village’s programming.

You Did This! 🎉❤️

The Richmond Tiny Home, Farm and Garden has opened on Sept. 26 and it is all thanks to you.

Thousands of people, countless hours, hundreds of organizations, 7 core groups (Safe Organized Spaces Richmond , Richmond YouthWORKS , Grip Cares , Hope Solutions , USFCA Architecture and RPAL ) and the love of the Bay Area have made this possible.

Thank you BenjaSoul and your accompanying band for the music enjoyed at the grand opening.
And Tiny Village Spirit is thankful to everyone that came out to celebrate this achievement with us.

We look forward to Hope Solutions taking over the youth selection process and welcoming our residents soon.

A Very Special Day Approaches!

We invite you to the Grand Opening of the Richmond Tiny Home Village, Farm and Garden on September the 26th starting at 1 pm.

This project has been years in the making. Tiny Village Spirit couldn’t have done it alone.

After the grand opening, youth residents will come from the Coordinated Entry System list which is Housing and Urban Development mandated.
Hope Solutions Hope Solutions is going to accept applications from Richmond young people ages 18 to 24 who are on the list and interview them.

Come celebrate this great achievement, we hope you can join us for our Grand Opening scheduled for Sat. Sept 26 at 1pm to 4pm at 175 23rd Street, Richmond, CA.

We are going to have a blast as we thank everyone who helped make this project doubling emergency housing for unhoused Richmond young people possible!

Across the country, cities are struggling with a growing homelessness crisis driven by severe housing shortages and the erosion of social safety nets. This leaves communities caught in an impossible bind: deep compassion for unhoused neighbors, paired with real frustration and safety concerns around unmanaged encampments.

Our solution is community-built transitional housing villages: safe, dignified places where residents want to live and can access the services they need to move into permanent housing.

And we are doing this in Richmond California with the Richmond Tiny Home Village, Farm and Garden. And we have done this through:

Organizing local steering committees
We bring together residents, neighbors, and other stakeholders to ensure each village meets the needs of unhoused residents while thoughtfully addressing community concerns.

Building for beauty
Our villages are infused with community-sourced art, starting with the signature “prayer and blessing” planks that ring each site. Beautiful spaces foster pride, dignity, and true community.

Partnering with local service providers
We collaborate with trusted local organizations to ensure residents have access to case management, health care, employment support, and pathways to permanent housing.
