Join us as we help these students change the face of their new nation. Education and literacy are proven powerful tools to end war and poverty and the hopelessness that they bring. We have seen firsthand how access to education can change a person’s life path. is dedicated to helping the people of South Sudan overcome the destruction wrought by decades of civil war and move on to build their new
independent nation by providing youth with education. In South Sudan entire generations of young people missed out on an education when the longest-running civil war in Africa stopped education and thousands of girls and boys became refugees and young boys were forced to become child soldiers. These “lost boys of Sudan” ended up illiterate, unskilled and for most also conditioned by violence. We built a secondary school in a rural Atiaba, South Sudan, an area with less than 8% literacy. This is significant because it is estimated there are only about 50 schools in the entire country. Access to education is extremely low in South Sudan. But, now at Hope and Resurrection Secondary School 350 girls and boys have access to education for the first time in generations. For these students, the education we are providing will change the trajectory of their lives, the community, and our world. The school is much more than a place for learning. It is a symbol of hope because education paves the way to peace and stability. With Hope and Resurrection Secondary School in place with a professional faculty, we offer 350 girls and boys a high school education. We need your support to continue this life transforming work. It cost $900 a year to educate a student. Providing them with education, supplies, lunch and hope cost just $75 per month per student. Please support ending war and poverty by making a donation toward educating a student today.
