Have you donated to VIBE 2023 yet? Proceeds from VIBE 2023 will support The Excellence Closet, a local nonprofit that provides resources for students in need in Henrico, Richmond, and Petersburg. Expanding services to expose students to cultural and environmental field trips to explore things outside of their environment. Focus demographics will be the families in low-income housing in the greater Richmond area. If you are available on May 19th come out and support. It is an opportunity to share with some community leaders and network with people in the community.

A celebration of female fortitude and leadership and its positive impact on our community.

Donors and Supporters Update from Saturday December 10, 2022 Feeding and Serving.

We have added Commonwealth Capital Charities located on Oliver Hill Way. They have asked if we could donate additional Lunches in the amount of 12 – 15 twice a week. We had been delivering them Lunches once a week for two years. Some of their food resources have dried up. The numbers of unhoused people has increased for their program. Their lobby was full today when we delivered the lunches. The parking lot had about 5 -6 cars full with persons belongings inside of each of vehicle. On Saturday December 10 we feed and served the following items.

30 Lunches
60 Bottles of Water
30 Daily Bread Devotionals
30 Pairs of Men’s Socks
5 Pairs of Women’s Socks
25 Toiletry Bags for Men and Women
10 Pairs of Wool Gloves
10 Wool Knit Hats
8 Handwarmers
6 Coats
5 Pairs of Sneakers
1 Pair of Ladies Shoes
1 Portable Toilet
15 Men’s Winter Underwear Tops and Bottoms

Update:
there are only two shelters open for the unhoused in the City of Richmond at this time. Both are located on the Southside of the City of Richmond. The City has not decided when it is going to open the Shelters in the 1900 Block of Chamberlayne Ave, the other location at 5th Street Baptist Church in North Richmond. They have decided not to house people at the Quality Inn on Arthur Ashe Blvd. Which for the past years has housed at least 130 people. The other locations that are being used probably house together 100? Requests to the Mayors Office and City Council Members (except for Councilwomen Stephanie Lynch) have not been answered as of this date. We will keep asking questions until we receive some response for City Management. Latest Homeless Count in the City of Richmond as of January 2021 number was 838. We cannot do this work without the your assistance. We say “God Bless You” to our Donors and Supporters. You are the “Best.”

Tammy, Dawn, Evelyn, Martha, Lisa, Dan, Loraine and Remmie.

Have a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! From A Servant’s Heart Ministry.
