Richmond Young Friends

Richmond Young Friends is a youth group for Quaker kids and their friends in Richmond, IN. We meet Sundays from 4-5pm.

We have a middle school group for grades 5-8 (“Lightseekers”), and a high school group for grades 8-12.

11/01/2026

This Sunday, both groups will be volunteering at the HELP Shelter with Aurora helping to coordinate. We will meet up at HELP (2101 West Main Street, Richmond, IN 47374) at 4:00 pm. Looking forward to seeing you and helping the animals!
As a note, Zoë will be missing this Sunday, but Ollie and Rey will still be enjoying the shelter with everyone, and she will be back next week :)

This Sunday, our middle school group will be having a craft hour at West Richmond Friends Meeting at 4 pm. Please bring yourself, as well as any crafts you want to work on during this time, and if you don't have anything, fear not, as we will have materials to use. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our high school group this week will be led by Sam Morgan! For his servant leader day, he will be teaching us how to crochet hats to donate to help keep kids warm in the coming winter. He will explain to us how teaching this skill is both an act of leadership and service. Looking forward to seeing you there and learning how to crochet!

This Sunday, our high school group and our Lightseekers middle school group are both going on a spooky tour of the Earlham cemetery (1101 W National Rd, Richmond) with Richmond-famous Quaker historian Tom Hamm. We will meet him at the front gate of the cemetery at 4:00pm, and then walk with Tom while he shows us around a new section of the cemetery and shares local facts and history! Don’t forget to bring a jacket, and costumes are optional. Hope to see you all there!

Hello Friends,

This Sunday we will be making or fixing our Halloween costumes! Don’t want to make or fix a Halloween costume? That’s ok! Feel free to bring any kind of costume or clothes that you want to mend, alter, or fix. This week we will be in Earlham’s repair room, so we will meet up at the Joseph Moore Museum guest parking lot behind Dennis Hall at 4:00 pm, and walk to the repair room together. We plan to learn or strengthen skills in sewing/mending/altering clothes to build creativity and sustainable practices. Looking forward to seeing you!

To prepare for this meeting, please bring 1-3 songs that resonate and are important to you, as we will be listening to them and getting into why you picked the songs you did. Hi Friends,

This Sunday we have a very special meeting, we will be helping Rock Solid Ministries serve hot meals as part of our commitment to servant leadership this semester. This meeting will be at a different time and place than usual. Serving starts at 12:30 pm, so we will meet 15 minutes early at 12:15 pm at Rock Solid Ministries which is located at 1024 E Main St in Richmond, Indiana. Serving will end at 2:00 pm, and we will stay behind for an extra 15 minutes to help finalize clean up, so plan pickup for 2:15 pm. I know this is outside of our normal meeting time and duration, but you all seemed excited to do this, so I hope you are able to make it!

Hello Friends!

This Sunday we will be meeting upstairs at West Richmond Friends, in the Ratliff room, at 4pm to plan out our servant leadership days! We will use the time to list our ideas for servant leadership, pick our favorite activities, and start planning them out over plenty of snacks. I will be helping you guys with logistics for your activities, so come with all of your best ideas and remember the sky’s the limit! I look forward to seeing you all there!

Hi Friends!
We had a delightful time last weekend observing the beautiful ecosystem in Back Campus. We were able to hear many bugs and birds, as well as see an occasional frog in one of the ponds. Thank you for joining us :).

This Sunday, September 20th, at 4 pm, we will be meeting at West Richmond Friends House to enjoy making friendship bracelets while discussing the importance of mental health. This is critical for both the people around you and for yourself during these stressful times. We look to seeing you then!

Happy Friday, Friends! This Sunday, both groups will meet outside of Stout Meetinghouse (where Clear Creek Meeting is held) at 4:00 pm and walk to backcampus together, and we will be back at the meetinghouse by 5:00 pm for pick up. If you need help finding Stout, feel free to contact any of the RYF leaders:

High Schoolers: get ready to get your hands dirty because we will be removing invasive plants in backcampus of Earlham! We will be learning how to identify some plants that are invasive in Indiana, techniques to remove them, and the impacts of doing so. Please come with a water bottle, wearing a pair of sturdy close-toed shoes (like sneakers), and if you have any gardening gloves bring those too.

Lightseekers: we will be embarking on an adventure into Earlham's back campus to find a spot by the creek and observe the wilderness around us. For this walk, we will be meeting at Stout Meeting House on Earlham College's campus. Please bring shoes that are comfortable to walk in and possibly bug spray, as the mosquitoes have been bad recently.
