Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. Foundation The Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. Foundation ~ Help & Encouragement on Rough Oceans From that moment, life as the Koenig’s knew it, would never be the same.

Erik and Shannon Koenig of Richmond, Minnesota, are the proud parents of Nicholas, Maggie, and Andrew. On August 16, 2011, Nicholas lost his courageous battle to cancer at the age of four. On June 24, 2009 Erik and Shannon received the most devastating news a parent can ever hear regarding their child…the blood work showed abnormal cells, it is more than likely leukemia.

A group of remarkable people gathered on Sunday afternoon for some 🪒 fun. Together, friends and the community of The Store Saloon raised $2,431 for our foundation. Our hearts 💜💛 are full. We enjoyed watching the beard shaving. Hopefully those guys remember the sunscreen since some of their faces haven’t seen sun in YEARS!

Join us each Saturday at noon throughout May for meat raffles at The Store Saloon in St. Nick. Meat packages from Homegrown Meats 🥩 🍖 are really impressive!

It’s back!
Look, under there!
Did we just make you say underwear?
We hope so! Now we want you to bring them!
There is a constant need at pediatric hospitals and you may not have considered it before...What is the need?
UNDERWEAR!
When children and young adults go to the ER they often leave wrapped in a blanket. The U of M Masonic Children's Hospital let us know of this need and we want to continue to help out. Come to the Birthday Bags for Beans event this Saturday, April 18th and bring a pack of underwear (children to young adult size) or an unwrapped gift for pediatric patients at the St. Cloud Hospital. The staffs at the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital and the St. Cloud Hospital are so grateful for your support.
Thank you for being our village and supporting our mission and carrying on Nicholas' legacy!

What an amazing day! 🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏽‍♂️🦸 We had a special delivery from the superhero staff and students at Eden Valley-Watkins Elementary School! They collected an incredible $778.48 for the NPK HERO Foundation, supporting local families affected by childhood cancer. Huge thanks to the EVW community for your kindness and generosity! 💜💛

We are collecting donations until Friday, December 19th! Thank you so much to those that have dropped off toys and money donations! 🎄

Our annual Christmas toy drive is our favorite way to end a beautiful year of friends and family coming together to help families affected by pediatric cancer. It is a time to spread some Christmas joy to those spending the holidays this year at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital.

Erik and Shannon spent their last Christmas with Nicholas at the U of M Masonic Children's Hospital 15 years ago. Nicholas had just received a bone marrow/stem cell transplant that caused fevers and made his body weak, but the sparkle in Nicholas’ eyes when a bag full of Christmas presents showed up in his room was priceless. That sparkle is the reason we started this Christmas toy drive.

Join us by donating toys, gift cards, or money! There are a few ways to donate:

Drop your gift donation off at Erik and Shannon’s front porch by Friday, December 19th. (Please send the foundation a message if you would like the address.)

Mail gift cards or money to Nicholas P. Koenig H.E.R.O. Foundation, PO Box 310, Richmond, MN 56368. Keep in mind the teenagers who could use gift cards vs. toys.

Our friend, Pam Rue at Decor and More in Melrose is once again collecting toys for our toy drive! Her store is filled with amazing items - find the time to see what she has even if you are not able to donate to our toy drive this year!

Or, send your donations directly to the hospital:
Child Family Life Department
Attn: Holiday Donation Committee
2450 Riverside Ave S – MB 210B
Minneapolis, MN 55454

Thank you all for your continued love and support...and for keeping Nicholas' memory alive!
