Hey guys. It's with a heavy heart that I write this post. A navy veteran and his wife lost their baby late last year. Originally, Tricare said they were going to cover the funeral costs. Now Tricare is not offering assistance of any kind. A Go Fund Me has been set up to assist. Please contribute if possible and please share with family and friends!

Open Door Supoort Services is asking the Public for their help. We are in need of around 15 people to help repair some fencing on a animal pasture, trim around the fence post and also help with the maintenance of the garden.
July 10th

We joined forces with National Center for Healthy Veterans to help promote their great organization and also help with the many task at hand. This is going to be a fantastic community to get veterans back on their feet and allow them to learn many life skills.

This past weekend, co-founders James Burke and Anthony Brown along with a few Open Door members, visited Valor Farm in Altavista, VA, to aid in building tiny homes for homeless veterans, along with farm work needed! This place is amazing and if you have the opportunity to donate time and some hardwork, this is the place to be! We look forward to continue building our relationship with Valor Farm in the future!

We have a better idea of the support and work that Valor Farm needs so ODSS will be organizing more volunteer opportunities with Valor Farm. Please be on the lookout in the near future! It's a great opportunity for high schoolers to get their volunteer hours in as well!

:ATTENTION:
We have been ask to help volunteer with an amazing project in Altavista county. National Center for Healthy Veterans is building an village of tiny homes, recreational center and a community building along with horse stalls on a large 300 acre farm called Valor farms. They are here to help struggling veterans and their families get back on their feet and let them stand proud.

They are asking for a head count so they can plan the volunteer activities with the number of people.

Be on the look out for an upcoming event flyer. We will be having a ruck march in Bedford, VA on June 6, 2021. We will be rucking from the National Guard Armory to the National D-Day Monument where a guest speaker will talk to the group.
