Thanks to NextUp, Richmond Public Schools, City of Richmond, VA Government, Afterschool Alliance, and Dominion Energy for spotlighting the great work taking place in the afterschool space.

Youth support doesn't end when the school day ends. We love working with partners in OST because it impacts the entire community.

This time last week we were with over 4,000 incredible people at the The Y General Assembly in New Orleans. It was amazing!

Our key takeaways:

📌 What do young people need to master to be set up to own their future? Survey says ... relationships and rebounding from failure.

🫶 Belonging is more than a buzzword. It is practiced daily, assessed for deeper understanding, and best practices are shared across YMCAs. (Shoutout to William Thornton from YMCA of Greater Richmond for his great campfire talk and the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati for their assessment framework)

✨ Hope brings change. The Olympic Peninsula YMCA created a theory of change framework that implements hope in a practical way to every part of their work.

💪 We are all stronger together. Supporting youth programs and community impact takes all of us. Incredible, dedicated work is happening across the nation and we're inspired by the passion of each person.

🔍 The focus of the YMCA and its people remains the same 175 years since the founding - creating stronger, more connected communities.
