Congratulations to Mollie Barton for receiving the Phoebe P. Hall Mentorship Award! 🎉

The Phoebe P. Hall Mentorship Award was established by the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association in 2019 in memory of founding member Phoebe P. Hall to honor outstanding mentors. Phoebe had a career as a distinguished Virginia attorney and Rector of Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a pioneer in Virginia law when she co-founded Hall & Hall, PLC in 1969 with her late husband, Franklin P. Hall, former leader of the Virginia General Assembly, and was the winner of MRWBA’s Women of Achievement Award in 2006.

Mollie is pictured with her nominators, Lainey de Castro Bohannon, a current student at Howard University School of Law, and Adam Rellick of Stiles, Ewing, Powers PC, as well as MRWBA’s Awards Chair, Jackie Cipolla.

🎉 Celebrate Two Woman of Achievement Honorees at MRWBA’s May 22, 2025 Awards Celebration! 🎉
We are proud to honor two extraordinary attorneys whose careers have been defined by service, leadership, and a relentless pursuit of justice.
🌟 Valerie L’Herrou, Deputy Director of the Virginia Poverty Law Center’s Center for Family Advocacy, has spent decades fighting for low-income families and children across Virginia. From legislative reform to mentoring fellow attorneys, Valerie’s work in child welfare and family law has transformed systems and changed lives.
🌟 Joanna Suyes, founder of Suyes Law, is a nationally respected disability attorney and a tireless advocate for legal aid and pro bono. With over 15 years of service to vulnerable clients and the legal community, Joanna’s leadership and commitment to access to justice have left a lasting impact on the Commonwealth.
Join us as we celebrate these two remarkable women and their powerful contributions to the legal profession and our community.
