For women who are pregnant, homeless, undocumented, and afraid of deportation, shouldn't tackle this alone. If you know of someone in this situation and can walk with them through these systems, please do. (Grab this indoor from another part and have changed some things)

There are organizations that can help regardless of immigration status.

🏠 1. Housing and emergency shelter
If she is in Contra Costa County, call 211 first. It is free, confidential, and available 24/7. They can help locate emergency shelter, housing, food, transportation, and services for pregnant women.

🤰 2. Pregnancy support
Contra Costa Health – Prenatal Care Guidance can help connect her with prenatal care, health coverage, case management, and other resources. Their services are available regardless of immigration status, and they provide assistance in English and Spanish.

⚖️ 3. Immigration legal help
I would strongly recommend that she speak with an immigration attorney or accredited legal organization before contacting immigration authorities herself.
East Bay Sanctuary Covenant provides free or low-cost immigration legal services and helps immigrants connect with healthcare and social services.
Immigration Institute of the Bay Area (IIBA) also provides free or low-cost immigration legal assistance.

Being undocumented does not automatically mean that she has no legal options. She can have her situation reviewed by a qualified immigration attorney because there may be protections or immigration remedies she doesn't know about.

If she is currently being pursued by ICE, has been detained before, has a prior deportation order, or has an upcoming immigration appointment, she should speak with an immigration attorney first.
