OCTOBER 10-10, we will be celebrating the birthday of our Founder and CEO, Sharon Rivera Sanchez! 🎉 While she jokingly mentioned the new iPhone... 😉📱 her true birthday wish is to see our mission grow.

Sharon’s personal journey as a triple-negative breast cancer survivor, along with losing her brother to colorectal cancer just 37 days post-diagnosis, is the foundation upon which Trials of Color was built.

Her experience drives our daily commitment to our core pillars: Educate, Advocate, and Give Back, ensuring underserved communities receive vital resources and screening education so no one is left behind.

In honor of Sharon's birthday, we are launching a campaign to raise $5,000.

Our CEO and Founder, Sharon Rivera, was featured this morning on WTVR -TV - CBS 6's Virginia This Morning alongside host Amy Lacey and Apostle Belinda Baugh, organizer of the Regional Stop the Violence Memory Ride and Parade!

As proud members of the organizing committee, TRIALS OF COLOR is taking direct action on the ground. Petersburg currently faces the highest rate of colon cancer in our region, and community data shows that far too many people are being diagnosed for the first time in the ER, when it’s often too late.

We are changing that narrative. We’ve partnered with VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center to bring on-site colon cancer screening and education directly to the August 22nd event! Early detection saves lives, and we are bringing these vital health resources right to our people.

A huge thank you to WTVR CBS 6 and Amy Lacey for giving us a platform to amplify this lifesaving mission.

We are so proud to share this powerful testimony from Sharry B Goode, who just completed her first clinical trial! As Sharry highlights, the lack of diversity in medical research creates massive health disparities and we need to change that.

That is exactly what our "Bring a Friend to a Clinical Trial" campaign is all about. Overcoming fear, breaking down barriers, and driving medical breakthroughs is easier when we walk through those doors together.

Sharon Rivera Sanchez recently reached a major milestone: completing a 5th clinical trial at Medical Research. But advocacy requires radical honesty. Out of five trials started, two were dropped and three were completed.

The road to a cure is rarely a straight line, but one truth remains: A cure cannot be found if we aren’t in the room.

At Trials of Color, we believe:

1. Patients are fighting for their lives.
2. Participants are driving the breakthroughs of tomorrow.

Our "Bring a Friend" campaign exists so that no one has to face this journey alone. Let’s bridge the gap, together.
