A recent report from the Economic Policy Institute found that increasing union membership in America would not only raise wages and improve health care for all people, it would also protect our democracy.

They write: "Unions boost voter turnout, equip workers with civic skills, and actively defend voting rights. States with high union density have passed far fewer voter restriction bills than low-density states."
