We’re excited to share that August will be officially recognized as Immunization Awareness Month in Virginia each year! 💙

Vaccines are one of the greatest public health achievements in history, helping protect individuals, families, and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.

This resolution recognizes the importance of:
✅ Increasing routine vaccination rates
✅ Preventing outbreaks
✅ Supporting healthcare professionals
✅ Promoting trusted vaccine education

Today is World Lung Cancer Day. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, making awareness, prevention, and support more important than ever.

For people living with lung cancer, respiratory infections can be especially serious. Staying up to date on recommended vaccines - such as influenza, COVID-19, and pneumococcal vaccines - can help provide important protection. Talk with your healthcare provider about which vaccines are right for you.
