🐾 A GOOD DAY AT PETSMART! 🐾

Some of our amazing volunteers spent the day hanging out at PetSmart with a few of our adoptable animals — giving them a chance to get out of the shelter, meet new people, soak up some attention, and hopefully catch the eye of their future family. ❤️

And guess what?! We even had a CAT ADOPTION! 🐱🎉

Days like this are such a good reminder of how important these outings are. Every person who stops to say hi, every share, every conversation about one of our animals gets them one step closer to finding their forever home.

A HUGE thank you to our volunteers who give up their time to load everyone up, hang out for hours, answer questions, and advocate for these animals. We truly couldn't do this without you. 🫶

And thank you to PetSmart for giving our animals another opportunity to be seen!

One adoption down… and hopefully a few more love connections made. 🐶🐱❤️

🚨 WE CANNOT INTAKE HIM UNLESS WE FIND A FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME FIRST. 🚨

Because our shelter is still considered at risk for parvo, we cannot safely bring another puppy into the shelter right now. We need somewhere for him to go BEFORE we can say yes to taking him. 💔

REMEMBER Keyshawn the Keeshond?! 🥹 WELL… MEET HIS BROTHER!

This handsome boy is Keyshawn’s 5-month-old littermate — same litter, same age, and apparently the same ridiculously adorable Keeshond genes. 😍🐾

He is good with other dogs, sweet, and still very much a puppy! His potty training does need some work, but after all… he’s only 5 months old. He just needs someone willing to give him a little patience, consistency and love while he learns. ❤️

We are looking for a FOSTER or, even better, a FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home for him! 🏡

To foster for HSRC:
• Dogs already in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccines
• WE PROVIDE EVERYTHING YOU NEED! Food, crate, supplies, preventatives and vet care — you provide the safe home and the love. ❤️

We were able to be there for Keyshawn when he needed us, and we really want to be able to say YES to his brother too. But right now, we can only do that if someone steps up to foster him.

LIBBY - OUR LITTLE DACHSHUND MIX'S STRAY HOLD IS UP! SHE IS NOW READY! ⭐✨💫🌟

She is about 6 months old and is 18 lbs!

Meet Libby Lou!

Libby Lou may only be part Dachshund, but she has 100% Dachshund personality! This adorable 18-pound girl is full of confidence, charm, and personality. She’s a little dog with a BIG-dog spirit!

Libby is an independent, strong-willed girl who knows what she wants, and she would love to be the queen of her forever home. She enjoys the company of other dogs but wishes to be the pack leader and is willing to challenge whoever is currently in charge.

She absolutely loves toys, tug-of-war, exploring, and following interesting scents. A securely fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for this little adventurer so she can safely put her excellent nose to work.

And when playtime is over? Libby is happy to settle in for some snuggles and cuddles. She is also doing fantastic overnight in her kennel!

Libby is still working on her household manners and would love a patient family who will continue helping her learn and grow. Because of her short Dachshund legs, her people will also need to help her avoid jumping from high places.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving, confident, affectionate little dog with a huge personality, Libby Lou just might be your girl.

BABY BERNIE! Bernie is still looking for his perfect foster-to-adopt home! He’s in foster because he was too tiny to stay at the shelter without a mom or siblings. He’s looking for a home that has at least one other pet to keep him company while his people are away. He’s all boy, independent and confident, loves tussling with other kitties, and tolerates being dressed up by his foster sister but doesn’t want to make a habit of it. He is really quite precious! Please submit an online application if he seems like your guy!
