On January 17, Teamsters across America are organizing parking lot rallies and petitioning to demand that employers respect MLK day as a paid holiday and deliver on his dream of economic and social justice.

Dr. King spoke of a Dream deeply rooted in the American Dream. We are here to tell employers that it is time to Deliver on that Dream.

Teamsters are essential workers. We demand respect and dignity for every Teamster and every worker.

We stand united against harassment and discrimination. We stand united for living wages.

We can win MLK Day as a paid holiday. We can win the contracts we deserve. But it’s going to take all of us, standing together, shoulder-to-shoulder.

In what became a tri-state relay, Teamsters Local 322 (Richmond), and Teamsters Local 822 (Norfolk) gave Santa a little helping hand sending toys and supplies to needy families affected by the Kentucky tornadoes.

Here’s what’s happening in Washington, and how you can help us deliver a win.
This week, the House Ways and Means Committee is considering the Butch Lewis Emergency Pension Plan Relief Act of 2021 as part of the broader COVID relief package. Chairman Richie Neal (D-MA) has been a champion for this fix. We need to remind all committee members that protecting seniors’ retirements is not a partisan issue and encourage them to vote to include pension relief in this bill. Check to see if your representative is on this list!
Once the bill clears the committee, it will be voted on by the full House and then considered by the Senate as part of the full COVID relief stimulus package on its way to the White House for President Biden’s signature.
Protecting Teamster pensions will benefit all of our communities, but most Americans have no idea our pensions are even in danger. Share Dan’s story and ask your friends to stand in solidarity with Teamsters and other union workers to protect our pensions.
The retirements of more than 1.4 million members and retirees are on the line. We played by the rules, and are only asking for the promises that were made be kept. Thanks to the role Teamsters played in electing leaders that put workers first, we have the chance to protect our pensions once and for all.
As America’s strongest union, we have the power to create real change.

Among the many honored guests and dignitaries at the 2021 Presidential Inauguration will be Teamsters Local 322 member Anthony Gaskin. Brother Gaskin is a UPS driver who was recently celebrated by an entire neighborhood for his unwaivering service during the pandemic. Brother Gaskin will be serving as a representative of the 1.4 million Teamsters, who as essential workers have kept this country moving during the pandemic. Tune in and support your Union Brother!
