Our belief is that students in Northeast Ohio, can develop high-level art skills, become more confident engaged learners, and develop their own identities as creative individuals. To reinforce STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) curricula within schools; and engage Cleveland's youth in learning positive life skills, job skills, creative problem solving, and high quality visual art techniques, LYLESART intends to annually impact the lives of young aspiring artisans with mentorship and support. LYLESART has developed an outreach strategic model that focuses on a core group of at risk youth. Using a five-year plan that begins in the student’s 8th grade year and continues thru the student scholar’s ending semester of their freshmen -year in college. Throughout the five year commitment the student will be supported by the LYLESART core team and paired with an artisan mentor for a more individual focus. KEY COMPONENTS
