Love this! Education is NOT just “the 3 R’s,” even (especially!) for young learners. Art and music inspire creative thinking, and these littles are learning how to build instruments as well as play them! Way to go, Kellogg teachers and students!! 🪇🥁🎶🥰

Huge congratulations to Emma Cleasby from Kellogg Elementary! Emma was named the NATIONAL WINNER of the Young Artist-Creative Pets Competition. Her adorable drawing of "Buttons the Bunny Rabbit" was chosen from entries across the U.S. to feature on the front cover of the competition book!

Several other students from Kellogg Elementary, Richland Elementary, and Ryan Intermediate had their artwork selected to be published inside the book as well!

The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965 starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997, which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, this enthralling fairy tale still warms the hearts of children and adults alike. With over eighty students in cast and crew, this production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella - Youth Edition will not be one to miss!

Congratulations Gavin!

Huge congratulations to 8th-grade clarinetist Gavin for an incredible achievement! After a rigorous audition process, Gavin was selected to perform at the MSBOA All-State Middle School Band performance last Saturday at DeVos Hall in Grand Rapids.

Out of all the middle school clarinetists in the state of Michigan who auditioned, Gavin earned 4th chair—a massive accomplishment! 🏆

During the event, he joined talented students from across the state to work under the direction of renowned guest composer and conductor, Dr. William Owens.

Gavin, thank you for representing GLMS with such professionalism, musicality, and pride. We are so proud of you! 👏🎷

Congratulations! Quite an accomplishment!
