AND THAT’S A WRAP ON THE 2026 PADDLING SEASON!

The canoes are trailered and headed to their winter hale. 🥹

Mahalo to our TCOCC ʻohana for another season of early mornings, miles on the water, teamwork, and memories made along the way.

But just because practices are on pause doesn’t mean the ʻohana stops gathering!

👀 Stay tuned for off-season get-togethers, good vibes, and more time together on dry land!

Until next season, paddlers… a hui hou! 🌺

While the season changes, we remember that paddling continues across the globe. If you have time on Sunday, Oct 11, you can watch outriggers in action.

The page Moloka'i Hoe is reporting you can go to YouTube for KHON to watch! "Thanks to our sponsors and salt + air crystals + more!, the 2026 Moloka‘i Hoe will be live broadcasted across Channel 2 and KHON’s YouTube starting at 7:30 AM HST. Don’t miss out on all of the action as our crew will be on the water and in-studio sharing this year’s world championship and the history of this beloved race."

Monday & Wednesday (October 5th and 7th) are our final weekday practices of the season as the days have gotten too short to get our paddle on.

But don’t worry—we’re still paddling Saturdays!

One more week of weekday paddling. E hele mai!

Beautiful morning. Beautiful paddle.

Paddled to the Blue Bridge and doubled back to Riverfest at Columbia Park with a little mid-practice technique coaching along the way. Fine-tuning our stroke and enjoying every moment on the water.

Season’s winding down—there’s still time to come paddle with us! 🤙🏽

LAULIMA — many hands working together.

11 miles. Six paddlers. One canoe.

Saturday was one of those mornings when everything just came together. The canoe moved quick and smooth, six paddlers finding the same rhythm and moving as one.

We stopped at Leslie Groves for a short break — just long enough to step out of the canoe, take a breath, and enjoy the calmness and beauty of the morning.

Then it was back on the water.

Six paddlers. One rhythm. One canoe.
That’s laulima — working together, supporting one another, and becoming stronger as one.

Our season is winding down, but there’s still time to get on the water with us. If you’ve been thinking about trying outrigger paddling, come join us and experience the glide. Your seat is waiting.

Ho‘okahi wa‘a. Ho‘okahi pu‘uwai.
One canoe. One heart.

Smooth strokes. One rhythm. One crew.

A beautiful morning on the water with a smooth, well-blended paddle from start to finish. When everyone finds the rhythm and the wa'a moves as one, you can feel the difference. 🤙🏽

The AQI was moderate, but the wai was calling—and we made the most of it!

One heart. One mind. One goal.

After a few evenings of low numbers, Kalei O Ke Kai, our OC-4, was rigged and used in the Columbia! While the air grew heavy with smoke we paddled 2.6 miles to check it out.
Many thanks to Sue, Thu Ha, Warren and John!

Rainy skies, fast water, possibility of lightning, and one strong crew!

Team Hokuloa left it on the wai at Rooster Rock 2026, taking 2nd place in their division with a time of 1:27!

They spent the race chasing down two Unlimited Men’s crews and crossed the finish line just 3 seconds behind them! Now that’s a finish!

Great job to all our paddlers for digging deep and paddling as one. And a big mahalo to Tom for jumping into Seat 2 with the TCOCC kāne! 🤙🏽❤️🖤

One heart. One mind. One goal.

Mahalo Mountain Home Canoe Club for hosting another epic race!
