Know a household that could use a little fireworks awareness?

For a minimum $5 donation, you can sponsor a one-time educational postcard to be mailed to a household in the United States. A $10 donation is encouraged.

The postcard explains how fireworks affect pets, wildlife, autistic children and adults, veterans, people with PTSD, and others with sensory sensitivities. It also highlights the very real impact fireworks have on rescues and community organizations when terrified animals escape, become injured, need medication, require temporary housing, or cannot be reunited with their families.

You can choose one of our prepared messages or submit a short custom message for review. Messages must remain respectful and cannot include threats, accusations, profanity, identifying information, or harassment.

The recipient will not be told who submitted their address unless you intentionally sign your message. Addresses will remain private and will only be used for this one-time mailing.

Donations support fireworks-related outreach and animal assistance through Sam I Am Outreach and S’more Dogs Rescue, including microchip scanning, lost-pet reunification, temporary housing, veterinary care, medication, and rescue placement.

🐾 Veterinarian Needed for a Community Vaccine Clinic 🐾

S’more Dogs Rescue and Sam I Am Outreach are looking for a licensed veterinarian interested in partnering with us to establish a recurring, affordable vaccine clinic for the Tri-Cities community.

Many local families want to keep their pets healthy and vaccinated, but the cost of a full veterinary visit, limited appointment availability, and transportation barriers can make routine preventive care difficult to access. Rescues and foster families face many of those same challenges when several animals need care at once.

Our goal is to create a clinic that could regularly provide services such as:

💉 Rabies vaccines (administered by a licensed veterinarian)
🐶 Core dog vaccines
🐱 Core cat vaccines
🔎 Microchips
🪱 Basic parasite prevention or treatment, when available
📄 Proper vaccination records and rabies certificates

We will handle ordering vaccines, microchips, and other clinic supplies, and can provide most of the resources needed to make the clinic successful. We primarily need a veterinarian to administer rabies vaccines and help ensure services are provided in accordance with state requirements.

This would not be a clinic only for our rescue animals. We want it to serve local pet owners, families experiencing financial hardship, foster families and rescue animals throughout our community.

We are open to discussing the frequency, location, pricing and structure with the veterinarian involved. We can help organize scheduling, paperwork, volunteers, community outreach and the clinic setup so the veterinary team can focus on providing care.

We are not asking a veterinarian to donate every service. We want to build a sustainable partnership that fairly compensates the professionals involved while keeping basic preventive care accessible to the community.

S’more Dogs Rescue & Sam I Am Outreach

Over the last 6 months, so much of our time, energy, and heart has gone into the dogs from the hoarding property.

These babies needed decompression. They needed basic training. They needed socialization with people, dogs, and cats. They needed time to learn that the world could be safe, soft, and kind.

Rehabilitation is no joke.

We have been working tirelessly to help them heal and prepare for forever homes through our rescue, ’more Dogs Rescue. Because of that, some of our bigger community outreach dreams have had to sit quietly in the background for a little while. We can only do so much at one time, and the animals in front of us have needed us fully.

But Sam I Am Outreach was never meant to be only about rescue intake.

Our founder’s mission has always been to make a lasting impact in the community.

One dream she has carried for a long time is creating a small memorial garden at her home — a peaceful place for the community to stop, rest, and remember the animals they’ve loved and lost.

Over the years, she has buried a few stray animals here who were hit by cars. She has also helped bury a beloved dog for another family. Those moments stay with you. They remind you how much these animals matter, even when they belonged to no one, or when their people simply needed a place to say goodbye.

There is also a long stretch of road near us with very little shade and nowhere to sit. The vision is to turn part of this area into a memorial garden where people can pause, breathe, leave a painted rock in memory of their pet, and know that their love still has a place.

Recently, we began working with a nursery who wishes to remain anonymous for now to help design the garden. One of the biggest priorities has been finding the right bench — a place for people to actually sit and take that quiet moment.

Yesterday, our founder was at the ReStore and saw the perfect bench.

She took a leap of faith and asked about it.

And the manager offered to donate it.

We are so incredibly grateful.

This bench is more than just a place to sit. It is the first real piece of a vision that has lived in our hearts for a long time.

Thank you to the ReStore for your wonderful donation and for supporting our mission. Your kindness helped bring this memorial garden one step closer to becoming a reality.

A memorial garden is coming. Slowly, thoughtfully, and with a whole lot of love.

Urgent Support Needed for a Longtime Supporter

We’ve received a request for help from one of our longtime supporters whose health has been declining. Unfortunately, their caretaker/family member had been personally rescuing cats and kittens and, when they moved out, left the cats behind for this individual to care for alone.

They are now struggling immensely to keep up with daily care and basic supplies.

At this time, our rescue is not able to take these cats into intake due to lack of foster space. However, we are doing everything we can to support them where they are — and right now, the most urgent needs are food and litter.

After comparing options, we’ve found the best balance of nutrition and affordability to be:
• Cat food: Costco purple bag — $25 for 25 lbs
• Litter: Pine pellets from Ranch & Home — $10 for 40 lbs

Any help toward these supplies would make an immediate and meaningful difference and would directly relieve stress for someone who has supported animals for years and is now facing serious health challenges.

Seeing stories like this breaks our hearts. We hate the hurt that’s involved. Poor mama gave her life for these babies. Poor babies for not having a mama anymore. And we are sure the owner is heartbroken as well. We HATE the suffering involved with accidental, unplanned, or irresponsible breeding.

Even ethical breeders know leaving pets intact has risks even without pregnancy. Testicular torsion can happen at any time. Pyometra is also incredibly common in females. Pregnancy carries soo many risks too, including death for mom and babies.

Please spay and neuter your pets. Please don’t breed unless you’ve done the work that’s involved with ethical breeding. Ethical breeding is not easy. It costs well over a hundred thousand dollars to produce one ethical litter. Rescue a pet that’s already nuetered OR spend the pretty penny to buy from someone who has an ethical litter. There’s no inbetween anymore.
