I spoke with Rachelle, and she shared that donations are already beginning to decline as summer approaches. These donations are critical and truly help save lives.

Here is part of am email she sent out.

As our community prepares for a busy summer — including an increase in visitors from around the world — the need for a strong blood supply becomes even more important.

Blood donations this month are currently behind schedule, and supplies need to be built up ahead of the upcoming soccer tournament due to the expected increase in demand. This shortage could seriously impact patients who are waiting for transfusions needed for surgeries, treatments, and other medical care.

Please help support this effort by showing up for tomorrow’s blood drive if you can. Every donation makes a difference.

Carter BloodCare is all set up and ready for you to give the gift of life. We are here from 0900 to 1500 today at the Link Event and Recreation Center in Richland Hills.

We are having a blood drive from 0900-1500 on March 22nd. The drive will be held at the Link Event & Recreation Center. Carter BloodCare will have a bus set up ready to go at 0900. Please come out and donate. This benefits the Scottish Rite for Children

On behalf of the Richland Hills Masonic Lodge 1348 AF & AM, we'd like to give a big thank you to the men and women of the Richland Hills Police Department, the Richland Hills Fire Department, our brothers at the lodge and everybody else for taking the time out of their busy day to participate and donate in the Battle of the Badges blood drive.

We also want to extend a huge thank you to Sharon Morris, Treasurer of the Richland Hills Citizens Police Fire Academy Alumni Association who oversaw the counting of the ballots and Stacy Reddy for assisting her. Last but not least, a thank you to Andrew Saxon from The Link Event and Recreation Center for providing the space for Carter BloodCare to set up their buses.

We had 33 blood donors and 28 people who cast a vote. In the end, the real winners are the children at The Scottish Rite Hospital who receive your blood donations.
