Frontier Fellowship

Frontier Fellowship Inviting believing communities to engage people groups where the Good News of Jesus is not yet known. The world is waiting.

We believe God's message is for everyone, and each person deserves the opportunity to hear the Gospel in the context of his or her language and culture. To that end, we’re committed to our call to engage the Church—inviting, educating, inspiring, gathering and equipping followers of Jesus to embrace their God-given roles in making His name known among every nation, tribe, people and language.

Dr. Renita Reed-Thomson is the founder and president of Discipling Marketplace Leaders and one of CML’s plenary speakers, focusing on "The 99% on Mission: Unlocking the Church’s Greatest Mission Force."

If the whole church is going to take the whole gospel to the whole world, we have to more effectively mobilize and equip the 99% of God’s people who work in the marketplace. These workplace Christians have been strategically placed by God in their spheres of influence, and they have tremendous potential for Kingdom impact. Let’s learn together how God wants our churches to mobilize and equip marketplace Christians.

Reaching least-reached peoples takes many forms in Africa and around the world. Access can be particularly challenging when people are on the move! In remote areas of Niger, nomadic herders and oral cultures can now hear the Gospel through radio broadcasts, and Nigerien church planters are establishing a permanent Christian witness as they relocate to desert cities frequented by these herders.

In some contexts, however, access becomes more possible when people are on the move. People from difficult-access countries become more accessible as they meet Christ-followers while on holiday in Europe. And, as we are all aware, migration often brings the least-reached within our own reach. How can you and your church respond?

Mission is not a solo effort. God is working through believers around the world who are building relationships and sharing the hope of Christ in frontier communities. Churches grow in effectiveness when they learn from and partner with these local leaders. The Church Toolkit provides resources to help guide your journey toward meaningful engagement.

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need” (Hebrews 4:16, ESV). In South Asia, ritual priests charge a fee to pray to the gods on your behalf. But local Christ followers demonstrate the one true God’s accessibility as they offer to pray for you, free of charge! They will also happily explain how each person can freely come to God in prayer. The English word for “boldly” is translated from a Greek word that includes the concept of “with confidence, freely, in truth.” This is a precious truth we must not take for granted and should take every opportunity to put into practice.

More than 2 billion people still have little or no access to the Gospel. Behind that statistic are real people, families, cultures, and communities whom God loves deeply.

As churches learn about least-reached peoples, we begin to see the world through God's eyes and recognize new opportunities to participate in His mission. The first step may simply be learning their stories. The Church Toolkit offers resources to meet the people and their communities.

“Like honey on my tongue” is one way people express what it’s like to hear God’s Word for the first time. And that sweetness continues. Honey is one of the few foods that never spoils. Its unique, God-created composition retains its flavor and nutrition even after thousands of years.

We find the same enduring quality in God’s Word. Preserved over thousands of years, and no matter how many times we dip into it, it nourishes our souls. Reading and hearing God’s Word is one of the few experiences that is just as restorative the thousandth time as it was the first. “Taste and see!”

What if your church's next mission step begins in prayer?

Prayer is more than preparation for mission—it is mission. As we seek God's guidance, He shapes our hearts, reveals His priorities, and invites us into His work among people who have never had the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Ask God:
• Where are You already at work?
• Who are You calling us to love?
• How can our church participate?

“God is opening many doors, but we cannot do it alone. We need your encouragement and support. We need you to be with us.” This encouragement and invitation from an Egyptian follower of Christ reminds us that God is at work and that He is calling His whole Church to participate. Frontier Fellowship helps churches in the U.S. connect with churches and ministries in Egypt and elsewhere in the Middle East (and other places around the world!).

Mission partners in the Middle East are serving refugee communities, training local leaders, serving in seminaries and other schools and encouraging churches and church leaders. The doors are already open! Consider how you and your church can best participate.
