Father & Daughter Limit Trip

Yesterday our nonprofit organization Cast It Forward welcomed Shane and his daughter Paige from the Erie, Pa. area.

Shane recently won a trip our organization donated to support the fund raising efforts of the Walleyes for Wounded Heroes organization.

We made the long run and fished the deep waters off of Geneva. They caught a nice mixed bag of fish and we happily sent them home with a cooler full of Lake Erie’s finest.

Cornerstone of Hope Organization Event

This past week our Nonprofit organization Cast It Forward welcomed members from the Cornerstone of Hope organization for a day outdoor fun and fishing.

Throughout the day this fun group learned proper cast and retrieve techniques, how to safely handle & release caught fish and the importance of respecting our lands & waters.

Although the fishing was slow early on, those that showed persistence and patience were rewarded with some nice action.

At the end our day together each participant received our “Fishing & Outdoor Kit”. Each kit contained a new rod and reel combo, stocked tackle box, fishing hat, fishing shirt, “how to” fishing book and other useful outdoor items.

Fun Day with the Autism Society of Greater Akron

Last week our ‪Nonprofit Organization Cast It Forward welcomed participants from the Autism Society Of Ohio, Greater Akron.

We spent a beautiful day together spending time outside, learning how to cast and retrieve, catching fish, making new friends and enjoying a delicious cookout lunch!

Before we said goodbye, and in line with our “Cast It Forward” mission, each person received our “Outdoor & Fishing Kit”. Each kit contained a rod & reel, tackle kit, “how to” fishing book and many other useful outdoor related items.

What an awesome day spent with this fun and spirited group and we look forward to seeing them again soon.

Special R&R Day for Gigi’s Playhouse Moms

Last week our Nonprofit organization welcomed a group of moms from Gigi’s Playhouse.

Our goal was to provide a relaxing and stress free day from their life’s daily and demanding routine. Little did we know that these awesome moms would turn out to be a group of skilled and hardcore fisherwomen!

It was a fun, relaxing and insightful day and we wish all of these fantastic mothers all the very best that life has to offer.

Evening Event for Stewart’s Caring Place Members

Last evening our Nonprofit Organization welcomed members from Stewart's Caring Place: Cancer Wellness Center for an evening of connection, outdoor activities and fishing!!!

Throughout, this special group learned proper casting techniques, how to safely handle & release caught fish and the importance of respecting our lands & waters.

As a means to continue their fishing activities, at the end of our day together each participant received our “Outdoor & Fishing Kit”. Each kit contains a new rod and reel combo, stocked tackle box, fishing hat, fishing shirt, “how to” fishing book along with other useful outdoor items.

Cast It Forward Event for Gigi’s Playhouse

Recently our Nonprofit Organization welcomed members from GiGi's Playhouse Cleveland for a day of fun, food, and of course- fishing!!!

This fun and spirited group learned new skills and then caught lots of fish throughout the day. At the end of our time together each participant was sent home with a bevy of fishing gear. This included a new fishing rod and reel combo, a stocked tackle box, fishing hat, fishing shirt, “how to” fishing book along with other useful outdoor gear.

Down Syndrome Association of NEO Family Fishing

Earlier this week our Nonprofit Organization welcomed families from the Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio.

Throughout the day attendees were instructed on proper cast and retrieve techniques, how to handle and safely release caught fish, enjoyed a delicious cookout lunch and of course, caught lots of fish!!!

At the end of our day together and in the spirit of our “Cast It Forward” mission, we provided each participant with their very own fishing rod / reel combo, stocked tackle kit, fishing hat, fishing shirt, “how to” fishing book and other useful outdoor items.

It was a fun day spent with this inspiring group and we look forward to spending time together again soon.

Workshop of Wishes Family Fun Day

Recently our nonprofit organization ‪hosted families from the Workshop of Wishes organization.

Our fun day together consisted of teaching the basics of cast and retrieve, the proper handling and releasing of fish, the value of spending time together outdoors and the importance of respecting our lands and waters.

After a delicious cookout lunch and more fishing, we provided each participant with their very own “Outdoor and Fishing Kit”. These useful kits consisted of a fishing rod / reel combo, stocked tackle box, fishing hat, fishing shirt, “how to" fishing book along with other useful outdoor items.

It was a fun, enjoyable, and eventful day and we look forward to spending time together again soon with the families from the Workshop of Wishes organization.

Wednesday Walleye Whoppers!!!

This past Wednesday we welcomed husband and wife team Mark & Louise on board. Both are avid anglers and know their way around a boat, but do not have access to our Great Lake and our world class walleye fishery.

It was a steamy morning of fishing and the fish were more than ready to go. Besides catching a nice mixed bag, Mark and Louise had the unbelievable experience of having three big fish on at once, all were successfully landed and measured 28”, 29” and 30” long!

It was quite an eventful morning and one that we all will remember for a long, long time.
