It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Kristina "Kristy" Simcox. Kristy was the inaugural recipient of the LC2 Foundation's annual race proceeds and an active, cherished member of our foundation family. Her strength, love, and unwavering spirit inspired so many of us, and her loss leaves a hole in our hearts. While we are heartbroken that she is no longer with us, we take comfort knowing she is at peace, shining down on all of us.

Kristy was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2017, and after surgery and treatment, she courageously beat it. Tragically, in 2019, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but once again, she fought with everything she had and became cancer-free. About two years ago, during a routine screening, Kristy learned her breast cancer had returned as Stage 4. Despite this devastating news, Kristy remained optimistic, determined, and ready to face this new challenge with the same courage and strength that had carried her through before.

Throughout her journey, Kristy has been surrounded by the love and support of her incredible husband, Cole, their two young boys, their extended family, friends, and church community. The LC2 Foundation is honored to have stood with Kristy and her family throughout this journey.

November 14, 2025 at 11 a.m., we will gather at Living Hope Church in Doylestown to honor Kristy and celebrate her beautiful life. All are welcome to join in this celebration of her legacy.
We will miss you, Kristy, but we are so grateful for the time we shared with you. Family Forever - đź’” the LC2 Foundation.

The LC2 Foundation is thrilled to announce that the proceeds from the 5th Annual Take a Bite Out of Cancer 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will go to Frankie Wilson and her amazing family. Please join us in celebrating their inspiring cancer journey on October 19th! Here is their amazing story...

"Our family’s story is one of love, resilience, and hope, a story we never imagined would be ours to tell.

It began on February 1, 2019, when our world was turned upside down. Dan, a young father of two daughters (then ages 2 and 7) and husband to his high school sweetheart, Brittany, was admitted to the hospital after months of battling what seemed like a stubborn cold that came with a cough, shortness of breath, and fatigue that wouldn’t go away. After countless doctor visits and few answers, a telemedicine appointment finally led to the discovery that would change everything: masses on his lungs and mediastinum.

At just 34 years old, a non-smoker and otherwise healthy, Dan was diagnosed with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, a rare genetic mutation called ALK+, not caused by smoking or lifestyle. The shock was overwhelming. But with an incredible medical team, a strong support system, and a targeted therapy that continues to work wonders, Dan has been able to live life fully, watching his girls grow, teaching them strength, and showing what it means to fight with grace and gratitude.

We thought we had already faced our biggest battle. But in July 2024, our family was once again brought to its knees when our daughter Frankie, just 10 years old, was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare pediatric bone and soft tissue cancer. It came only a few short months after we welcomed our miracle baby, our third daughter, a blessing who brought light and laughter right when we needed it most.

Frankie’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. After months of neck pain and testing, she began nine months of chemotherapy and radiation. She endured countless hospital stays, a feeding tube, nausea, and pain, yet her spirit never wavered. She smiled through the hardest days, inspired everyone around her, and showed what true bravery looks like.

In spring 2025, we finally heard the words we had prayed for: clear scans. Her tumor remains inactive, and though she continues to face challenges with eating and swallowing, she is thriving, laughing, and living life to the fullest again.

Two diagnoses. Two fighters. One family bound by unshakable love and strength.

Our story is not just about cancer. It’s about resilience, miracles, and hope for a future filled with more tomorrows. Together, we fight for awareness, for research, and for every family who has ever heard the words “you have cancer.”'
