You're Invited: Bagel N' Mingle with the TAAOM Board – Sun, Sept 13 at ACAOM!

Hey everyone,

It’s been over a year since our last gathering, and we’re excited to reconnect with the greater TAAOM and TX Acupuncture community this September in Houston!

All TX acupuncturists and students/alumni are invited to join us for a Bagel N' Mingle with the Board – a casual social gather with great conversation over bagels and more and a chance to learn more about what’s happening in our profession across Texas.

On Sunday, July 26, several DFW based board members (president Victor Manuel & Gail Daugherty) among other members like LS Collings and Carlos Chapa, etc., gathered for a relaxed brunch at Pie Tap Pizza in Addison, TX. Attendees enjoyed great food while reconnecting with colleagues, catching up with old friends, and meeting new faces from the local acupuncture community. The casual format encouraged open conversation, with many swapping ideas, referrals, and practice tips throughout the gathering. Events like this highlight the value of TAAOM's regional meetups in building a stronger, more connected acupuncture community across Texas. Keep an eye out for future local gatherings, including a possible Houston-area meetup being planned on the morning of the September 13 board and general membership meeting at ACAOM !

Thank you to Pamela Ferguson and Acupuncture Today for addressing the recent Chicago Med episode and speaking up against harmful misrepresentations of acupuncture.

As NCBAHM CEO Mina Larson noted, it is “disappointing to see such dramatic misrepresentations” that reinforce “outdated myths and misconceptions” about the profession. Accurate public understanding matters, and we remain committed to supporting awareness of the safety, professionalism, and integrity of acupuncture and herbal medicine.
