We will offer food, fellowship, gear and uniform exchanges, and our Northern Trail help desk.

Key contacts will be there to help resolve your questions and issues regarding membership, recruiting, advancement, outdoor activities and more!

Doors open at 6:30, stay for the Roundtable at 7. This month's topic is Recharter & Renewal. We will have speakers on the topic and reserve plenty of time for questions and 1-on-1 assistance. So come early and bring your laptop.

Congratulations to our past Arapaho Chapter chief and current Mikanakawa Lodge Vice Chief of Service Rachel W for completing her Eagle Project today supporting the Opal Smith Food Pantry in Balch Springs— it was a great turnout for a good turn— she led a landscaping and deck building project.

In the past, we offered roundtable discussions which will still be a key piece of second Thursday gatherings, but we will also be creating a destination hub for all things Scouting. Doors will open at 6:30pm for food, fellowship, and assistance for our adult leaders across the district. In addition to meeting and exchanging ideas with other Scouters, the Commissioner Corps and District Committee will also have representation available to assist:

• Question about cub, scout, or eagle advancement? Our advancement chair and many eagle designees will be there.
• Question about scoutbook or registration? Ask our commissioners or membership chair.
• Need help with registration or financial aid? Ask our district executive or commissioners.
• Campout or council event question? Ask our program team.
• Need to turn in paperwork or money without driving down to Harry Hines? We can help?

In the coming months, we will also be setting up patch trading, a gear exchange table, and a uniform closet.

Please make second Thursday a part of your monthly routine. Scouting is better together, so come and share with your fellow Scouters.

Rather than selecting individual classes, participants can enroll in a curriculum specifically tailored to their Scouting position.

Some important items regarding youth protection training (YPT), and the new SAFE Guarding Youth training:

If you have not taken the new SAFE guarding youth training, you will need to do so no later than May 31. Even if your YPT training is less than two years old, the program is being sunset and your training will expire May 31

The new SAFE guarding youth training is an annual training with 20 minute refreshers each year. Since the training has been around for a year now, some of you will be due for the refresher. Please take the refresher course PRIOR TO expiration of your SYT. If your SYT lapses by more than 7 days, retaking the full 90min course will be required.
