Kaylie is our officer spotlight for this week!
She has been such an important member and we value her dedication to this cause so much! 🤍💚
Hello! My name is Kaylie Kolenovsky, and I’m currently a sophomore studying marketing. I joined at the beginning of my freshman year and have stuck with it since because of the mission behind this organization.
CometTHON aims to raise awareness and funds for a cause I have been focused on since I was 15. I always volunteered for an organization called Triumph Over Kid Cancer, started by a boy in my hometown who passed away from a rare bone cancer, but he left his mark by creating an organization to help kids like him who suffered. This cause is developing a passion of mine, as cancer should not be considered normal, as it is such a devastating illness that affects millions of kids and their families. With this club, you know you are making a real difference in helping prevent kids from having their childhoods ripped away. Even the smallest action, such as fundraising or simply making them a holiday card , can bring brightness to their day, and that is why I love helping Children’s Health Hospital in any way. This club has allowed me to grow so much through communication skills, meeting all the members and supporters during our fundraiser, and, most of all, helping me stay grounded and not take life for granted. All in all, I will always recommend joining CometTHON to anyone looking to get involved, as you gain true friendships and experiences, while making a genuine impact on a cause that can be overlooked.
