During last night’s City Council meeting, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce was recognized with a proclamation celebrating its 80th anniversary and eight decades of service to the Richardson community.
Founded in 1946, the Chamber has played a role in many initiatives that have helped shape Richardson, including advocating for DART service, supporting efforts to establish The University of Texas at Dallas, helping organize the Richardson Symphony, and participating in the development of the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations.
The Chamber has also supported education and leadership development through efforts including Leadership Richardson, which has graduated more than 1,400 community leaders over more than four decades.
The proclamation recognized the Chamber’s members, leaders, volunteers, and supporters, past and present, for 80 years of vision, advocacy, leadership, and dedicated service to Richardson.
