Ahoy! Meet Robert Phillips, Dean of SeaScouting for University of Scouting, 2026. Robert serves on the East Trinity Trails District Committee and is the COR for SSS 1000, the Pathfinder, and Troop 1524-G.
Whether it's racing or kicking back on a sailboat Robert encourages all scouts to get on the water.

Meet your 2026 University of Scouting Quartermaster....Kristine Schwope

Kristine Schwope loves to feed you! Come be a part of the University of Scouting on October 10 where she'll be the Quartermaster. She is currently a Asst. Scoutmaster for T444G, Associate Advisor for Venturing Crew 1978, Arapaho Chapter Adviser for Mikanakawa Lodge where she is a Vigil Honor member, and has served for several courses of NYLT and Wood Badge among other trainings. She is the proud parent of an Eagle Scout, an almost-Summit Scout, and is a believer that fun snacks open more than mouths-- they open minds, hearts, conversations, and friendships.

Meet your 2026 University of Scouting Dean of Cub Scouting.... Dr. Larry Featherston

Dr. Larry Featherston believes that every Scout deserves a trained leader. He is deeply passionate about helping adult volunteers gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to deliver an exceptional, impactful Cub Scout program.

Larry’s commitment to leader education at the University of Scouting (UoS) runs deep. After serving as an instructor and the Associate Dean of Cub Scouting for the 2023 and 2024 events, he stepped into the role of Dean for the 2025 UoS and is proud to continue leading the college for the 2026 event. Beyond UoS, Larry serves his local Scouting community as the Scoutmaster for Troop 123 in McKinney, Texas, and as the Lone Star District Roundtable Commissioner.

Professionally, Larry brings his passion for education and mentorship to his daily work at Dallas ISD. There, he leads a team of program evaluation analysts, providing critical data and regular insights to program managers, school leadership, and the Board of Trustees to help shape effective educational programs.

A big shout out to Cub Scout Pack 380 (Prosper, TX) for being THE FIRST to accept the challenge to sign up FIVE leaders for University of Scouting. Pack 380 is a very family-oriented pack who welcomes boys & girls ages 5-11 (Grades K-5th.) The Pack serves Hughes, Spradley and Furr Elementaries in Prosper ISD.

Meet your 2026 University of Scouting Vice-Chancellor....Bram Franklin

Robin Bram Franklin was educated at Pan-American University and graduated in Landscape Architecture and Botany from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was the COR for Cub Scout Pack 129, an assistant scoutmaster as camping coordinator for Troop 444 for 8 years, Northern Trail District Membership Chair, then Training Chair, as well as Mentor for the district’s Leadership Specific & IOLS Training. Currently he is the District Commissioner for Northern Trail. At the council level, he was a Circle 10 Council COVID Compliance Officer and a member of the Circle 10 Council LatinX Committee. Currently he is on the Scout Reach Committee as well as the vice-chancellor the 2026 UOS

Bram has learned from the parents as he trained them. As a volunteer, Bram has been blessed seeing 5th grade scouts coming in green, then standing strong, and walking out as leaders. He volunteers approximately 260 days each year with not only Scouts BSA, but the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney. Volunteering since 1991 with the Dallas Arboretum, Temple Emanu-El of Dallas, and the Jewish Community Center. His passion remains his family, the outdoors (backpacking, skiing, and sailing), cooking, and working with youth. He has been working in the nursery and landscape industry since 1975 and living in the DFW area since 1980. Bram is married to his best friend Kerry and a proud father of Noah 24, and Liana 30.
