The first FFA meeting for the 2026-2027 school year is tomorrow, August 27th in the Gym during Wildcat Time! All 7th-12th graders that are interested in FFA or want to learn what it is about are able to attend!

Ashley Koenigs sure ended her State Fair FFA Career with a bang!

On Friday, judging took place in the morning for Ag Mechanics projects and results were Friday afternoon. Ashley took down 6 projects and all of her projects were top finishers!

Outdoor Woodworking - Grand Champion and Third Overall with both receiving purple ribbons as well!

Indoor Woodworking - Grand Champion, Reserve Champion, Third Overall, and Fourth Overall with all four receiving purple ribbons!

Ashley was able to help Riceville FFA Receive 2nd place overall as a chapter in the Ag Mechanics division at State Fair!

Ashley did an absolutely amazing job and it was truly a great way for her to end her showing career with FFA! Riceville FFA is very proud of the hard work and dedication that Ashley put into all of her projects throughout the years!

Post 1 of 2 for Riceville FFA on the Iowa State Fair.

On Thursday, we had two first time state fair exhibitors in the beef show! Kallie and Klaire Eastman both brought down breeding heifers to exhibit in the FFA Breeding Beef Show and did an outstanding job!

Klaire took first place in her commercial heifer class and received a purple ribbon!

Kallie took third place in her commercial heifer class and received a blue ribbon!

These two did a great job and we are excited to see them come back down to the state fair next year!

A huge congratulations is in order! We have not one, but FOUR members receiving their American FFA Degrees at the National FFA Convention in October! Congratulations to Lyndon Dohlman, Madison Miller, Tyler Sprung, and Caleb Zweibohmer!

The American FFA Degree is the highest honor in the National FFA Organization, earned by less than 1% of all members. Recipients are elite student leaders who demonstrate exceptional dedication through community service, stellar academic records, and top-tier supervised agricultural experience (SAE) projects.

These four great individuals will be joining a list of past Riceville FFA American Degree recipients that includes 18 members dating back to our first recipient in 1961! This is also the first year we have had more than two members receive their American Degree in the same year!

The Riceville FFA Chapter is extremely proud of these four members and we are all very excited to see them walk across the stage at National FFA Convention to receive their degree! What a great way to showcase these members hard work and dedication to FFA and their community!

On Friday, the livestock judging team consisting of Daynan Conway, Reed Boyle, Caleb Marr, and Andrew Moore competed in Vinton at the Benton County Fairgrounds in a livestock judging contest. They did a great job and were able to learn a lot during the day!

Andrew Moore received third overall individually in beef judging. Reed Boyle received fourth overall individually in swine judging. The Riceville FFA Livestock judging team received 4th overall in the whole contest!

Congratulations on a great contest to these four members!

The Mitchell County Fair was a great time for our exhibitors last week! We had exhibitors in two different animal species and we also had members helping out at the fair!

Landon Kaski competed in the Dairy Show, where he received Grand and Reserve overall!

Andrew and Aaron Moore participated in the beef pen of three, where Andrew received Grand Champion Herdsman and Reserve Champion Pen of Three!

Daynan Conway, Maci Miller, Andrew Moore, and Aaron Moore participated in the beef show all receiving high placings in class!

Caleb Marr, Daynan Conway, Harlyn Conway, Maci Miller, Andrew Moore, Aaron Moore, Reed Boyle, Jim Boyle, Blake Baetkhe, and Charlotte Smith on Thursday night of the fair grilled with the cattlemen!

The students did an excellent job at Mitchell County Fair and represented the chapter very well!

Today, 3 FFA members traveled to Grundy County Fair for a livestock judging contest. Daynan Conway, Andrew Moore, and Reed Boyle were able to finish 4th overall as a team! Daynan also finished 6th overall individually! These three did a great job and are excited for the next livestock judging contest coming up in a couple weeks!

The 2026 Mighty Howard County Fair came to a close this past week for the Riceville FFA exhibitors. We had 8 exhibitors at the fair exhibiting in 3 different animal species.

Mally Linkenmeyer ran for Fair Queen and was awarded the 2026 Mighty Howard County Fair Queen! Her sister Kennedy (who was our 2025-2026 chapter vice president) was the 2025 Mighty Howard County Fair Queen, so she had the privilege to give the crown to her sister Mally! We are so proud of these two and how great of role models they are for the youth!

Brailee Eastman, Kennedy Linkenmeyer, and Mally Linkenmeyer exhibited swine in the 4-H/FFA Swine Show on Friday.

Izzy Siewert exhibited in the horse show on Wednesday and the hose games on Saturday.

Klaire Eastman, Kallie Eastman, Brailee Eastman, Caleb Marr, and Isaac Marr exhibited cattle in the 4-H/FFA Beef Show on Saturday.

Kennedy Linkenmeyer and Mally Linkenmeyer volunteered their time for the bacon buddies show before the swine show. They were able to help Izzy Kinneman and Kara Lawrence (both ag students at Riceville) exhibit a pig in the ring!

The Riceville FFA Exhibitors did a phenomenal job at the Mighty Howard County Fair and continue to represent the chapter very well!
