Stevens County Fire District 12 Welcome to Stevens County Fire District 12. Fire District 12 is made up of volunteers throughout the Rice, Gifford, and Daisy communities.

Our area extends along Lake Roosevelt from just north of mile post 72 on Hwy 25 South to just north of mile post 53 on Hwy 25 South and Bissel Road. The eastern border is about the 1460 block of Orin-Rice Road and the 2700 block of Addy-Gifford Road. We have a variety of trucks, brush trucks, water trucks, and extrication equipment as well as a 24’ fire boat. We also have EMS First Responders for

medical emergencies. We currently have three station locations: 1985 Orin-Rice Road (Rice), 2334 Scott Road (Rice) and 3341 Addy-Gifford Road (Gifford). The stations are not staffed so always call 911 for emergencies.

Total Burn Ban Enacted In Stevens County!

Effective immediately, per ordinance 2022-06, all fires (including campfires) are prohibited in unincorporated areas of Stevens County. DNR has also enacted a state-wide burn ban on all DNR protected land.

Heads up for Monday, July 24th! Expect Dry, Gusty Winds that can lead to critical fire weather conditions. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for much of eastern WA and north ID during the afternoon and evening hours. Anticipate westerly wind gusts 20 to 30 mph with local gusts up to 40 mph.

Attention: Gifford Prescribed Burn Planned for Today

Today is the day! 🔥

Use caution while driving on Highway 25 near Gifford. Fire crews and law enforcement present and near road.

Lake Roosevelt Fire Management is planning to burn 72 acres adjacent to the Gifford Campground and Boat Launch Today, Thursday May 4th. Access to the campground and boat launch may be temporarily closed throughout the day. Significant smoke may be present in the area Thursday. There may be smoke in the vicinity of the burn through Sunday May 7th.
