Our club delivered smiles to 294 third graders in Barron County! Each student received a personal dictionary. They were so excited to write their names in their books. Our members showed students some of the dictionary's features, such as the longest word, the manual alphabet, what currency is named in different countries, and most importantly, how to find a word and its meaning in their new books.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace was a huge success! On Saturday, MANY community members teamed up with the Barron County Sunrise Rotary, Rotary Club of Rice Lake, Cumberland Rotary Impact Club, and the Shell Lake Area Companion Rotary Club to build 60+ beds for local children without their own place to sleep. A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this possible for our kids. The beds will be delivered soon!

All skill levels welcome! We still need volunteers for Saturday.

🛏️ Our first shift is FULL — now we need your help filling the rest!

We’re getting SO close to our Sleep in Heavenly Peace 60-Bed Build this Saturday, October 3! 💙

Thanks to an amazing response, our 9:15 a.m. shift is officially FULL! 🎉 But we still need quite a few volunteers to help us finish strong:

🔨 11:30 a.m.–1:15 p.m. — 11 spots available
🔨 1:45–3:15 p.m. — 30 spots available

Can you give us a couple hours this Saturday? Grab a friend, family member, coworker or neighbor and come help us build beds for kids right here in our community.

No special skills are needed, and you do not have to be a Rotarian to volunteer!

Already helping during an earlier shift? Consider sticking around and signing up for another one. 🙌

💙 60 beds. One day. One community coming together to make it happen.

Help us make sure no child sleeps on the floor in our county! Our local Rotary Clubs are partnering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build 60 beds on Saturday, October 3, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Barron County Fairgrounds.

Volunteers will help cut, sand, drill, assemble and stain beds for children right here in Barron County.

We are also collecting donations of new bedding at registration on build day. Our greatest need this fall is twin-size mattress protectors. Other needed items include:

• New twin-size sheet sets
• Twin comforters
• Twin bed-in-a-bag sets
• New pillows

Items may also be purchased through the Walmart registry by searching for “SHP Chippewa Valley Chapter.”

Monetary donations and bed sponsorships are greatly appreciated. A sponsorship can also be made in honor or memory of someone special.

Our club members recently toured Northwood Technical College's Immersive Room, a high-fidelity emergency medical simulation designed to give EMT and paramedic students a realistic experience of what they might face in the field. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s EduSTAT in Rural Healthcare grant, it featured scenarios like a lawn mowing accident, a drowning on a local lake, someone collapsing at a noisy party, a farm accident, and even a bouncy-house mishap. Inside, students can hear, see, smell, and even feel the weather for each situation. This impressive facility is one of only 12 in the entire country.
