We need to talk about stealing, again, as it has gotten way out of hand recently.

Often our volunteers and supporters bring items in to attempt to off set some of our monthly expense. The money raised operating the store is barely enough to justify keeping it open to begin with. Add in the incredible raise in theft, and soon we wont be able to maintain it.

We purchase items to sell to help raise funds, we make items ourselves to raise money. If you are in that much need that you feel you need to steal, speak to the volunteer. We are more than happy to help individuals in need, but you aren't just stealing from a some big CEO that wont notice a couple hundred dollara every month, your taking from volunteers and more importantly- the animals and community we serve.

Stop. Think. Ask for help.

Second Chance Resale will be closed tomorrow as our hearts rest.

Today, Sophie, who has been a volunteer greeter at our store since its opening, crossed the rainbow bridge.

She was a staple member in our family, an enthusiastic hugger, a Grade A snuggler, she made so many people smile, and had the best calming ability.

Sophie was the best foster dog mom to so many pups and seniors that are now living their best lives with their own families. She went on many trips to senior centers, and was always ready to greet visitors with a wagging tail.

Many people who have been to the store may have noticed Sophie, she was diagnosed a few months ago with an inoperable bone cancer on her muzzle- but that never once stopped her from being happy.

If you had the honor of meeting Sophie, please hug your pups and fur babies a little tighter tonight for her. 🌈❤️🐾

PLEASE do not shoplift. If you need something from the store, and do not have the funding, talk to a volunteer. Stealing is not acceptable, makes our volunteers feel bad, and we are more than willing to offer help if made aware. To the woman who stole an arm load of items and clothing yesterday, we would have happily helped you if you had asked.

We are so excited for this year's event, and cannot wait to see you all and discuss the happenings and future plans of LRBDR while we kick back to enjoy some amazing food, music, drinks, door prizes and more!

Tickets are $75 each, and come with a choice of:

Now that we have caught our breath after a busy start to 2024, we will be hitting the streets to ask local businesses and community members for gift baskets, items, services and gift certificates to make this year's raffle and auction as exciting as possible!
