REMINDER: My annual food and blanket drive will be starting on November 1st!! I have re-named it The Frances Alva Memorial Food and Blanket Drive in honor of my Mom who passed away unexpectedly a few months ago. I want the 2013 drive to be the BIGGEST and BEST one yet, so please start collecting your canned goods, non-perishable foods, or cashing in all of your quarters and pennies to make donations beginning November 1st. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

We're 11 days in, and we've only received two donations, totaling $35, for the 2012 My Life Keys Book and Toy Drive. Last year we were able to help over 100 families. We can do it again this year if we all chip in!

Today is Day 1 of my worldwide 31 Random Acts of Love Challenge!!!

This challenge is very simple: Every day, through December 31st, you will perform at least one Random Act of Love for someone. Take pictures of whatever you do (if you're able) and either post them here on the Fan page, tweet them to me using the hashtag, or email them to [email protected].

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

* Sweep your neighbors front porch
* Plow the snow off of the driveway of a stranger
* Purchase a Starbucks gift card and leave it on a bus stop bench
* Give 10 strangers a hug
* Give a compliment to a stranger
* Make a donation to a Toy Drive
* Pay for the food or coffee of the person in line behind you
* Send a care package to a soldier
* Staple a card with a Positive Affirmation written on it onto a balloon and release it to find the person who needs it most
* Buy a Barnes & Noble gift card and leave it in a book at the public library

There are so may things that you can do to spread LOVE throughout the world, most of which don't cost you anything but your time and effort!

Please make sure that you post about all of the wonderful Random Acts of Love that you commit here on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag . Tell your friends and family about it so that they can join us and the next thing you know, the world is a better place just because we shared Love with a stranger.

OK, who is ready for another 31 Day Challenge?!??!

Beginning December 1st, I am hosting a Worldwide 31 Random Acts of Love! Here's how it works:

Every day during the month of December, you will perform at least one Random Act of Love. PLEASE take pictures of yourself doing the Act or of the person/thing you did the Act for, and post them here on our Facebook Wall, tweet it to us () using the hashtag , or you can email your pictures to [email protected].

A lot of people ask, "But Coach, what can I do?! I don't have a lot of money especially because of the holidays." You DO NOT need a lot of money, or any money at all for that matter, in order to participate in this challenge. Giving of yourself is one of the best things you can do! (I will be providing Random Acts of Kindness ideas on the Fan page as well as the websites in order to help you throughout the month.)

Notice that I said "at least once per day." I encourage you to perform as many Random Acts of Love as you can throughout the 31 days. The person who performs the most Acts of Love will receive a prize, so I encourage you to document your Acts of Love and send me the pictures!

You have a few days before the game starts so begin preparing NOW!!! Who's IN?!?!?!?!?

Each year we collect donations from around the world to purchase food and blankets for the homeless and those in need during the holiday season. Last year we donated over 150 food & beverage items and delivered 15 Love Packages directly to the homeless. We're looking to DOUBLE in 2012!

This year, half of the food and blankets collected will be donated to the San Bernardino County Food Bank. We will create Love Packages with the other half and distribute them directly to the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. In addition to food and blankets, The Love Packages will also include water, juice, tooth brushes, tooth paste, sanitary items for women, body wipes, deodorant, and more!
