Tomorrow, family and friends will gather to celebrate Cole Wilson’s life. Please keep Brett, Daniel, and all of Cole’s family and loved ones in your prayers as they face an incredibly difficult day.

The generosity shown through the GoFundMe, along with every prayer, message, and act of kindness, has been overwhelming. Thank you for surrounding this family with so much love.

We also ask you to remember something: grief doesn’t end when the service does.

As everyone returns to their routines, this family will still be learning how to live with an unimaginable loss. When the calls slow down and the house gets quiet, they will still need their community.

Send the text. Make the call. Offer a meal. Keep saying Cole’s name. And if they don’t have the strength to respond, let them know there’s no pressure—you’re still there.

Let’s keep showing up in the weeks and months ahead.

If you would like to contribute, the GoFundMe remains available:

From this year forward, the Rhome Police Association’s annual National Night Out raffle will be called The Cole Wilson Memorial Raffle. 🤍🐾

Cole was the son of Brett Roberson and the stepson of our reserve officer, Daniel Roberson. His loss is deeply personal to our association.

We had already chosen the Wise County Animal Shelter as the beneficiary of this year’s raffle. After Cole’s passing, his family shared how much he loved his dog, Kong, and asked that donations in lieu of flowers go to an animal shelter. We want to carry that wish forward each year by remembering Cole and helping animals in his honor.

This year’s raffle proceeds will benefit the Wise County Animal Shelter. Tickets already purchased remain valid for the October 6 drawing.

Raffle purchases support the animal shelter; GoFundMe donations support Cole’s family. Thank you for helping us remember Cole in a way that reflects something he loved.

🐾 ENTER TO WIN—AND HELP THE ANIMALS OF WISE COUNTY!

The Rhome Police Association is holding its first gun raffle, with proceeds benefiting the Wise County Animal Shelter. Every entry helps support the shelter and the animals in its care—and one winner will take home both prizes:

🔫 Tokarev TBP semi-automatic 12-gauge sh***un
💳 $250 gift card to Aledo Arms & Ammo

🎟️ 1 ticket for $20
🎟️ 6 tickets for $100
⏳ Only 200 tickets available

Scan the appropriate Square QR code to purchase online, or pay cash at the Rhome Police Department Tuesday–Thursday from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. or Friday from 8 a.m.–noon.

How online ticket purchases work:

After your Square payment is received, we will complete and assign your physical raffle ticket or tickets. A photograph of your portion of each ticket will be emailed to you. Keep those images—they are your proof of entry.

The winning ticket image and matching photo identification must be presented to claim the prize. In other words, don’t delete that email. We can’t draw you a treasure map back to your ticket afterward.

Purchasers must be at least 21 years old. The fi***rm must be picked up from Rustic Revolver Gun Shop, and the winner must successfully complete the required background check.

A huge thank-you to Rustic Revolver Gun Shop for donating the sh***un and Aledo Arms & Ammo for donating the $250 gift card.
