The Oneida County Humane Society began advocating for humane treatment of animals and children in 1913 when it was officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit organization. MThe Rhinelander Animal Shelter currently provides services to all of Oneida County animals. Over the years, members of the Oneida County Humane Society actively provided funds for area animal shelters and humane societies. In 2011 a small group of area animal lovers came together with the hope of expanding the Society’s activities to include education to the public and greater assistance to the Rhinelander Animal Shelter. On July 1, 2012, the Oneida County Humane Society assumed operational responsibility for the Animal Shelter, renaming it the Oneida County Humane Society Adoption Center.

That means that ALL of the dogs AND cats currently at our shelter have NO FEE for an approved adopter!! Thank you so much again Cass, this is absolutely incredible!
Pictured with Cass is adoptable dog Joker!

🥰Rubio is now in a foster home, but still available for adoption! Please call to meet him! This guy is the definition of a gentle giant! Rubio is around 100lbs Cane Corso, neutered, housebroken, and ready for his forever home! Rubio was transfered here from another shelter. We did not get much information about him, but he has done well with other pets with proper introduction. Rubio is a couch potato! He is a pretty chill guy. We do think he may have some hearing issues, but it doesn't seem to bother him. Call today to meet him! 715-362-5992
