🎉 Big news from the GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club! We’ve officially made it into the Rhinelander Historical Society Museum! 💙
Stop by the new display at 9 S. Pelham St. to see a wonderful tribute to our club’s history and community impact — including our first presidents, our 128-year partnership with the local library, local suffragists, the Oneida County Comfort/Rest Room, the Helen Mears Contest, and more.
📚 While you’re there, be sure to get a must-read copy about Rhinelander’s first librarian, Inez Van Tassal — a fascinating piece of our shared local story!
We’re especially proud that the display also features current member June Walkowski Thiel, who received the 1949 GFWC state health scholarship that helped her pursue a nursing career. June later became a Woman’s Club member, served for many years as president and board member of the Historical Society, and played an instrumental role in restoring the museum building in the 1990s.
What a beautiful reminder of how women’s leadership, service, education, and community spirit have shaped Rhinelander for generations. We can’t wait for you to see the display — and we’ll be sharing several photos here, too!

We are proud to support the Hodag Monster Meal Program and the incredible work being done for our local children and families. Thank you for all you do to strengthen our community, and thank you to the many generous donors and volunteers who make this program possible!

We would like to send a MONSTER THANK YOU to our amazing donors and supporters of the Hodag Monster Meal Program this school year! Thank you to GFWC Rhinelander Woman's Club, Rhinelander Lions, Dahl Rhinelander, Kwik Trip, Trinity Lutheran Church, Alex C. Dove Foundation, Nicolet Bank, Ripco Credit Union, and ALDI USA. Their generosity provided milk, eggs, bread, apples, noodles, sauce, and juice boxes for our meal bags. Thank you for supporting our community!

Celebrating the 250th Birthday of the USA 🇺🇸 was a fun and patriotic project for our club this week! We chose a vibrant red, white, and blue color theme, thanks to Henning from Forth Floral, who helped select the perfect flowers. The funds for the blooms came from our club's operating budget dedicated to environmental efforts. Peggy Osterman and Dee Jacobs had a great time planting two barrels at the entrance to the Logging Museum and filling all the window boxes and planters on both sides of the historic one-room Schoolhouse—170 plants in total! Clubwoman Cindy Goll was volunteering as a docent that day, sharing stories with visitors in the schoolhouse, where Dee also volunteers every Wednesday as a teacher and docent. It's a wonderful way to celebrate our country and give back to our community! 🇺🇸

Last Friday, Carolyn and Cindy Z from our club had a wonderful day helping the US Forest Service plant trees at Trees For Tomorrow. This project, started three years ago, began when several members planted seedlings in an area that had suffered a severe storm, causing a blowdown. It’s inspiring to see how much progress has been made, with many of those young trees now growing nicely. The large trees planted on Friday symbolize a bright future for reforestation in the area, and we’re thrilled to see so many school groups enjoying all that Trees For Tomorrow has to offer. 🌳🌳🌳

Our DeeAnna Jacobs has served as Chair of the Education and Libraries segment this term.
Dee represented our club at Sunday's annual scholarship presentation at Rhinelander HS, where she announce our recipient, Carlie Pudlowski.

Dee also participated on behalf of the Lion's Club to present additional scholarships--a wonderful reflection of her dedication to the broader community.

Cheers to the spirit of service in our community!
