ArtStart is a cornerstone in our community, not only bringing culture and creative experiences to a thriving downtown in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin, but also as an active participant in community building conversations and collaborations. Officially formed in 2011, ArtStart volunteers rolled up their sleeves and opened their pocket books to renovate a building leased from the city of R

hinelander, into a modern space. The space includes two galleries, a classroom/conference room, indoor and outdoor stage and bar area. There are several office spaces which are leased to artists, music instructors, health coaches, foundations and other nonprofit organizations. Whether it's exhibitions, concerts, special events, or partner programs ArtStart is an engaged and active organization strengthening our community through arts education and cultural and community engagement. ArtStart Means Culture! Rhinelander Area Arts and Culture Center:
–is a home for curated traveling and local exhibitions and a variety of cultural events
–offers arts education for all generations to expand their creativity
–is a creative and social gathering space. ArtStart Means Business! Rhinelander Area Arts and Culture Center:
–is a magnet for tourists and area residents
–draws new businesses and families to Rhinelander
–creates a buzz about our downtown
–is funded by individual and business contributions and grants not taxpayer dollars

👀 SNEAK PEEK! 👀 Our curator (a million thank yous to our volunteer curators!) has been very busy unpacking and installing the fall exhibition. Wisconsin ART From the NORTH opens Thursday and is a diverse show made up over 40 pieces of varying mediums. Art was selected through a WVA juried process and is quite the special collection that we are excited to be hosting. Join us for the Opening Reception: Wisconsin ART from the NORTH on August 29th from 1 - 3pm, with a juror talk and awards at 2pm.

Get your tickets for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's large scale performance at the John and Dori Brown Performing Arts Center at Rhinelander High School on September 29th. You may purchase tickets online (visit artstartrhinelander.org) or purchase your tickets at Child's Frame Co, Northland Music, or at ArtStart. What an incredible experience to hear the symphony live in the Northwoods! 🎶 Our third and final Roots on the Road show of the summer welcomes Karley Davidson to the Northwoods Center at Nicolet College.

Davidson is an acoustic singer-songwriter and loop artist known for building layered, rhythmic songs live on stage. Her performances are compelling and not to be missed! Roots shows are known for their uniqueness where folks not only hear the songs, but the stories behind the songs.

The Roots Concerts are free, open to the public and made possible through partnership with WXPR 91.7FM and Nicolet College. A cash bar will be open.
