Tonight!

Looking for something to do tonight? Join us this evening (5/26) at 7PM for In Progress, an open mic art share event open to all!

Presented by ArtStart, WXPR and hosted by Nate Sheppard, In Progress is a unique event where participants are encouraged to share something they're working on in any stage of the process (hence the name "In Progress").

Join us at The Hilgermann Center for Community in downtown Rhinelander at 7PM on the last Tuesday of every month and show us what you're up to! Whether a song, a poem, a painting, anything is welcome and you will not find a more supportive group. We can't wait to hear and see what you have been creating!

Who wants to worry about making dinner on a Friday night?! Sexy Butt BBQ will be parked at Rooted & Rising: ArtStart's 15th Anniversary Party starting at 6:30pm tomorrow night (5/22). Come and get yourself some food and stay for the fun! We'll have live music from The Down Beat, live screen printing, craft for the kids, and even a sneak peek at the Summer Exhibition (which is incredible!) Let's celebrate!

Ashley has helped shape ArtStart in ways that will echo long into our future. We are better and stronger because of her. We wish her every good thing ahead. Please read her message below.

"My connection to ArtStart began long before I joined the staff in 2017. Since 2013, I had the privilege of serving as both a volunteer and board member, experiences that gave me a deep appreciation for the organization’s mission. When I later stepped into the role of Program and Operations Director, I could not have imagined the incredible journey that would unfold over the years. At ArtStart, I have had the privilege of helping bring countless creative projects and community experiences to life. Each program, event, and collaboration reflected the heart of ArtStart.

One of the greatest gifts of this role has been the relationships built along the way. I am especially grateful for the volunteers whose passion, generosity, and dedication continually inspired me. ArtStart’s volunteers are the driving force behind so much of what makes this organization special, and I deeply appreciate the time, energy, creativity, and care they bring to every project and event.

I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together - not only in the programs we hosted or the events we organized, but in the community we built. The artists, community members, supporters, partners, volunteers, and staff I have worked beside over these years have left a lasting impact on me.

As I step away from my role at ArtStart, I do so with immense gratitude and optimism for the organization’s future. I know the creativity, passion, and commitment that define ArtStart will continue to grow and inspire others for years to come. ArtStart will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will continue to support the organization and cheer it on however I can.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Your support, trust, collaboration, and friendship have meant more than I can fully express. While this transition marks the end of my time in this role, the memories and relationships built here will stay with me always.

LIVE SCREEN PRINTING FRIDAY NIGHT! Participants in ArtStart's Teen Art Experience recently received some hands on screen printing lessons from Brett Childs of and they will be showing off their skills Friday night at Rooted & Rising: ArtStart's 15th Anniversary Party. We'll have some great totes that can be screen printed right on the spot!

Come for the screen printing, the live music, the food, the cake (yes - we will have cake!) and let's celebrate the power of the arts and ArtStart's 15th Anniversary. 💃
