Founded by artists and healthcare professionals, O+ works to expand access to care for artists through innovative exchanges of creative work for healthcare services. We were honored to connect with festivalgoers, share Astor's mission, and celebrate an event that brings together art, wellness, and community support. is hosting a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training on October 28. The program, developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, is designed for adults who interact with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, including professionals such as teachers, coaches, and youth-serving staff, as well as parents, caregivers, friends, and neighbors.

Participants will learn how to recognize when a young person may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge and how to provide appropriate support. The course covers practical strategies for responding to concerns, connecting young people with resources, and offering help in a supportive and effective way.

Astor's Bronx Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides short-term, intensive therapeutic treatment for youth ages 11-18 who are experiencing significant emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges that impact their functioning at home, school, or in the community. PHP helps youth build the skills needed to safely manage emotions, improve daily functioning, strengthen relationships, and maintain stability while remaining connected to their families and communities.
