🔥 ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THIS WEEK 🔥

The combination of extreme heat, very low humidity and increasing winds will create elevated fire danger across western and northwest Oklahoma through the upcoming week.

🌡️ Temperatures: 104–106°
💨 Winds: Generally 10–20 MPH, with gusts 20–30 MPH
💧 Humidity: Dropping into the teens
🌾 Fuels: Extremely dry grass and vegetation

The forecast calls for 106° this afternoon and Sunday, followed by temperatures in the 104–105° range through Wednesday. Winds will also remain elevated, especially during the afternoon hours.

These conditions can allow a wildfire to start easily and spread rapidly, making even a small spark potentially dangerous.

🚫 Please help prevent wildfires:
• Avoid outdoor burning
• Don’t park or drive through tall, dry grass
• Secure trailer chains and check for anything dragging
• Properly dispose of ci******es
• Use extreme caution with anything that could create a spark

One spark is all it takes. With temperatures over 100°, humidity in the teens and gusty winds, firefighters could be facing a very active week.
