👑☀️ Almost two weeks ago, our judges had the difficult task of selecting our Summer Queen 2026 during Women’s Circle, among an incredible group of finalists. It was a special evening filled with confidence, creativity, and sisterhood.

One of the highlights of the event was seeing some participants walk the runway with great confidence, personality and also wearing garments they repaired, redesigned, and transformed through WEE’s Repair to Re-Wear Program (sewing classes).

Congratulations to Natividad Hernández, who has been a finalist many times before. Through her perseverance and commitment, she is now our Summer Queen 2026! 👑🌺

A heartfelt thank you to all of our candidates, participants, and judges for making this event such a judges for making this evening a memorable celebration.

Happy Father’s Day! 💙

Today, we celebrate all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, father figures, and caregivers who make a positive difference in the lives of their families and communities.

While the majority of the individuals we serve at Women Encouraging Empowerment are women, we are also fortunate to have many incredible men who are part of our community. Through their support, leadership, kindness, hard work, and commitment to their families, they help strengthen our programs and contribute to a more inclusive and empowered community for everyone.

Thank you for all that you do. We wish you a joyful and well-deserved Father’s Day!

Hoy celebramos a todos los padres, abuelos, padrastros, figuras paternas y cuidadores que tienen un impacto positivo en la vida de sus familias y comunidades.

Aunque la mayoría de las personas a quienes servimos en Women Encouraging Empowerment son mujeres, también tenemos la fortuna de contar con hombres extraordinarios que forman parte de nuestra comunidad. A través de su apoyo, liderazgo, amabilidad, esfuerzo y compromiso con sus familias, ayudan a fortalecer nuestros programas y a construir una comunidad más inclusiva y empoderada para todos.

✨ A few weeks ago, we kicked off our Repair to Re-wear workshop series, and we’re excited to finally share a glimpse into what our participants have been learning and creating so far! ♻️🧵

Across our 4 cohorts, 60 participants are learning sewing, repair, and upcycling skills, building confidence, and helping give clothing a second life through repairing, rewearing, and reducing textile waste. 💙

Throughout the series, participants are gaining hands-on experience with sewing techniques, clothing repairs, sewing machine practice, creative upcycling projects, and other practical skills that encourage sustainability, creativity, and self-expression. 💫

Through these workshops, participants are also learning about the impact of overconsumption and textile waste on our environment, while discovering creative ways to make clothing last longer and stay out of landfills. 🌎✨

Additionally, these workshops provide a relaxing and creative space to disconnect, slow down, and enjoy the process of creating, repairing, and mending with their hands. 💙

We’re so grateful to everyone who has joined us so far and are excited for our upcoming graduation and to continue seeing the creativity, confidence, and inspiration this journey has sparked within our participants! ✨

✨ Hace algunas semanas comenzamos nuestra serie de talleres Repair to Re-wear, y estamos emocionadas de finalmente compartir un vistazo de todo lo que nuestras participantes han estado aprendiendo y creando hasta ahora. ♻️🧵

A través de nuestros 4 grupos, 60 participantes están aprendiendo habilidades de costura, reparación y reutilización creativa, desarrollando confianza y ayudando a darle una segunda vida a la ropa mediante la reparación, reutilización y reducción de desperdicios textiles. 💙

Durante la serie de talleres, las participantes están adquiriendo experiencia práctica en técnicas de costura, reparación de ropa, uso de máquinas de coser, proyectos creativos de reutilización y otras habilidades útiles que fomentan la sostenibilidad, la creatividad y la expresión personal. 💫

A través de estos talleres, las participantes también aprenden sobre el impacto del consumismo excesivo y los residuos textiles en nuestro medio ambiente, mientras descubren formas creativas de extender la vida útil de la ropa y evitar que termine en los vertederos. 🌎✨

Además, estos talleres brindan un espacio creativo y relajante para desconectarse, tomarse un momento para sí mismas y disfrutar el proceso de crear, reparar y arreglar con sus propias manos. 💙

¡Estamos muy agradecidas con todas las personas que se han unido hasta ahora y emocionadas por nuestra próxima graduación y por seguir viendo la creatividad, confianza e inspiración que este camino ha despertado en nuestras participantes! ✨

Here’s a recap video capturing some of the beautiful moments shared yesterday during our 3rd Annual Mother’s Day Brunch. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, love, culture, and community as we came together to celebrate and honor the incredible mothers in our lives. 💐

We want to sincerely thank everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so special we hope you all enjoyed it. A special thank you to Miguel Rodriguez for the unforgettable serenata that truly made the celebration extra special. His music brought so much joy, emotion, and excitement to the room — mothers sang along, smiled, and got up to dance together, creating beautiful memories that everyone deeply appreciated and enjoyed. 🎶💃💃, to for their wonderful folkloric dance performance that filled the room with pride, culture, and energy.

Thank you to Hopes Worldwide for the beautiful gift baskets generously donated for our mothers. Their thoughtful contribution added even more joy and excitement to the celebration, and our attendees truly appreciated the love and kindness behind each gift. 🎁💐to Piedad Agudelo for the beautiful balloon decorations that helped create such a warm and festive atmosphere.

A huge thank you to our small but mighty team and our incredible volunteers team who worked so hard behind the scenes — from planning to ex*****on — with love, dedication, and commitment to making this event memorable for our community.
