Books and Brews at Murray's Tavern Revere last night brought a lot together in one room. It was the fourth in our series with the Revere Public Library, the first fundraiser for the newly relaunched Friends of the Library, and the official launch of the Library's new mobile library, kicked off with a press conference. Together we raised roughly $2,000 for the Friends.

The room itself told the story. Small business owners alongside library volunteers, city councilors alongside school committee members, neighbors meeting neighbors. Thank you City of Revere Mayor Patrick Keefe, to the Friends, to Murray's Tavern, and to everyone who showed up.

Revere is pulling in the same direction, and the Chamber is right in the middle of it. Proud of the work we are doing and happy to be supporting our local community.

**Revere High School Building Committee Meeting Update – March 25, 2026**

🔨 **Construction is moving fast.** Foundation crews are starting this week, with reinforcing steel arriving on site tomorrow. Two crews will be racing around the building footprint to get foundations in place ahead of structural steel delivery, targeted for **mid-July**.

📐 **The building is taking shape.** The perimeter is established, excavation is underway, and three rigs are actively working inside the building footprint. After months of soil work, we're finally seeing real, tangible progress toward an actual building!

💰 **Great news on the budget.** The project is currently trending **$16.5 million (4%) under budget**, with a draft Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of **$395.4 million**. About two-thirds of the project is now under contract with real bid numbers — no longer estimates.

🏟️ **Athletic field lighting approved.** The committee voted to include lighting for the two athletic fields in the contract — opening the door for after-hours community use and potential revenue generation for the city.

📅 **Next meeting:** April 22nd or 29th, where the committee will vote to approve the final GMP contract — a major milestone for the project.

🎯 **Target move-in: Winter Holiday 2028.**

Revere High School Building Committee Meeting #88 update:

- Approved prior meeting minutes (Jan 21 and Feb 4) and a series of invoices for owner’s project management (Left Field), architect (Perkins Eastman), construction manager (Consigli), builder’s risk insurance (Baldwin Group and KFDA), and materials testing (Briggs) – all tracking within the established budget.

- Risk management move by the City and finance team (including KFDA and Rich Biscay) is projected to save roughly $400K on builder’s risk insurance while still keeping about $400K budgeted for ongoing materials testing.

- Construction progress: support‑of‑excavation around the full building footprint is complete, ground improvement work has started in the rear (Building F) and will move toward the front, utilities are going in, and soil is being actively managed and exported offsite as landfills approve loads.

- Foundations are now expected to start in March (pulled ahead from April), keeping us on track for a late‑2028/early‑2029 move‑in; the project is roughly 9% complete with only ~5% contingency used and no construction change orders so far.

Stop by the hall tomorrow. Come say hello. Let's talk business.

We’re excited to collaborate with the City of Revere, Mayor Patrick Keefe Jr. and his economic development team to support our local small business community.

Starting this Wednesday, we’ll be hosting "Small Business Office Hours at City Hall" from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Chamber representatives will be on-site to answer questions, offer guidance, and help business owners navigate both city resources and growth opportunities.

Whether you need help with:
- Navigating city-related questions or processes
- Marketing and visibility strategies
- Making the right Chamber connections
- Growth planning and referrals
- Simply pressure-testing an idea
- Or getting more involved in the local business scene

The Chamber and the City's team are here as a resource.

Small businesses are the backbone of our community. These office hours are designed to make access easier, conversations more direct, and solutions more actionable. When you are in retail and have a location in the city or are a professional living/working in the city, please stop by and say hello.

Wednesday, 2/18, between 11am and 1pm.
